If you have a clear resonant voice and can actually read - Sadly many can't read as well as they believe they can- this is something that can fill some of your spare time.

Seems like a great service there Nwbie. I've been told I've got a solid "radio voice" and would be interested in helping out if I lived anywhere near Michigan :(

Then again, may be in Ann Arbor for Grad school, so we'll see.

They are all over the country - I just grabbed the MI one because it has a nice logo - and was up first on Google.
We have one 4 or 5 blocks from the house and i am on the list for readers, most of the active ones are retired professors and ministers. Nice clear speaking voices.
They all are looking for help- so do a search in your area if you are interested. Was a real wakeup call when I test read for them, several words I have been mis-pronouncing my whole life :)
