yes like on any of those days you're actually celebrating what they stand for...

give me a break, you just sleep in and are happy no work/school, dont complain about that

I think you should riot.  That's how chavez got his day, rioting and raising hell.  At least MLK's cause made sense.

unlike most people I was raised to be a little more patriotic than others, enought that this bothers me

so do you like have a cake and everything for the dead presidents?  :lol

Presidents day isn't even on either of their birthdays, its between the two, and the rest of the country gets that day off so it's only cali thats weird.

And MLK definatly should have a day, hes arguably as important as those two presidents for his bravery and call for social change, he shaped america into what it is today. Inspiring american figures should have a holiday most definatly, president or not, MLK started a whole peaceful movement, they were met with violence but they stuck to their ideals. I have the an infinate amount of respect for MLK, I couldn't ever imagine walking a mile in his shoes.

like i said above, arguably, so don't start arguing with me, I didn't make that statement to cause an uproar.
