First I tried the latest 181.20 which Aces High did not like. Prop looked funny and some parts of the dash dials were black.
Then I tried 169.96 and it said I don't have any hardware compatible with these drivers.
Then I tried 176.01 and it said the same thing. :(
Downloading now 169.77 and crossing my fingers.
What do you guys use or suggest for my GeoForce 6600GT Vid card?

Did you completely uninstall the old driver before trying to roll back to the older ones? If you didn't it 'can' cause problems. Programd like Driver Sweeper (google it, its free) make it pretty cut and dry making sure you get rid of all the current driver files.

Another way to make sure all the old driver files are gone is to uninstall whatever driver you have on now, then reinstall your old drivers, then uninstall them, then reinstall the new drivers again. It's a little convoluted but it works.
Considering you've installed multiple drivers though, if you didn't uninstall each set you're probably better off running a driver cleaner.

I have a 6800gt and I'm still on 84.21, if it aint broke etc....
-
Yes I uninstalled them each time and always restarted the system after uninstalling and reinstalling. Also tried 178.49 and received the same error. :huh
I will try the driver cleaner.

There's a program called Driver Cleaner (that used to be free but you have to pay for). And theres one called Driver Sweeper that does the same thing, but is still free.

You do not want to use any of the 1xx.xx series drivers for a 6000 series video card. The 8x.xx series is as good as it gets with the 6000 series.

Skuzzy is right as always. Older cards work better on "older" drivers. I would use wobbly's suggestion the 84.21. If they work for him probably best choice for now.

Thank you all. I will try those. :)

That did the trick! :aok I tried a 77.72 driver I had on hand and it looks great. I will look for a 8x.xx
Thanks again! :)

You can try these out.

Before my 6800 GT went out these used to work great with it. Seems like old nvidia cards are better off with the Nvidia 61 drivers. My stand-by card an 420 MX runs the game O K, but without the older drivers the game would cough blood.

The 5000 series, and earlier should be using the 61.77 drivers. Those were the best drivers for that family of cards.
