Title: GV fight
Post by: shreck on February 16, 2009, 01:50:32 PM
Logged in on sunday A.M. for a bit and found a GV fight at a port that was conceled in fog. I have to say this was very cool, it was interesting moving around fairly conceiled unable to spot enemy GVs till about 1 to 1.5 away. Made me think of what the cold foggy mornings in Russia might have been like. :rock Anyway it was very nice, it seemed even planes had a harder time spotting the GVs. If you have the opportunity to do this when the fog is around, you should, you might really enjoy the "cat and mouse" aspect of the GV fight. Screws with frame rate a little though.

This experience confirmed for me that GV icons should be removed.  IMHO

I'm seeing so many posts about removing the icons, yet no one will consider what it would do to guys like me. Forceing me to use the ground range just to know they're there was bad enough (although I understand why it is so), now you want me to look for a speck on the ground while dodging planes and AA fire, all with a frame rate of four? No thanks.

HTC has decided they want people like me to have fun too! :)

But if they ever change their mind, it'll do my avatar all the more justice.

There are no icons for GV vs GV.
But from the air there are very hard to spot without the icon.
Also the GV's do not leave any telltale track marks or do the kick up a visible (from the air) dust or exhaust cloud.

that isn't fog, that is the souls of all lost sailors from every CV that has ever been sunk.

Have you ever wondered who or what keeps the deck clean and the ship moving?

It's a game that recreates air combat using WW2 aircraft and vehicles and not recreating or simulating World War II.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Shreck, you should attend a heavy metal sunday event, in the past we have often put "fog" and "night time" on during the event, it changes everything!

that map is a good reason spawns should be left alone,
perfect place where the fight went one way for a while then back the other,
its always good to own the land your fighting over tho, and we did win the map,
had we not,, i think you guys were about to roll us.  to bad for you this time, but i am sure there will be another, seems like all the good tankers end up at the same fight eventually! :salute
