Title: New PC by tildeath
Post by: hlbly on February 18, 2009, 06:54:34 AM
Bought a new PC the other day from tildeath . Price was way reasonable . Performance is out of this world .
Intel E8400 duo core 3.0 ghz overclocked to 3.62 ghz
Nvidia Gforce 9800GTX+
ASUS Striker II Formula M.B.
4MB ocz Ram
650 GiG WD SATA hd

I have everything turned way up in Nvidia control panel . Everything maxed in AH2 . 1280x1024 resolution (my monitors max) . I waited to post until I could fly a TT , the place I got the worst fps on old system . In a very large furball my fps dipped to 59 a few times . (refresh on monitor is 60) . This thing ROCKS !!!!!!!!! Due to varying prices tildeath asked me not to mention price , but I want to say this much . Had I ordered the parts , sent in all the rebates. I would have had to spend more then I was charged including shipping . It took less then a week from ordering to delivery . Was in constant contact with tildeath , and he patiently answered all of my questions . If anyone is thinking of getting a new PC I urge you to give tildeath a call . It will be money and time well spent .

Same here he built me a high end machine in Jan. Top notch builder, and i will always be going to him for future builds. And lucky me he is local. Do not have to worry about shipping.

Tildeath does good work.  He is very accommodating to the Aces High community.

You should at the very least get a new keyboard...  Your shift key, i, and t keys seem to be sticking or inoperative :)

Noted for future reference - once I've emigrated that is.

Nice to see a recommendation

I prefer that people use TilDeath to build them systems instead of buying the Walmart special and then asking in the Hardware/Software Forums what they can do to improve performance in games.  The simple answer its not worth the money.  Budget PC's may have lots of memory, hard drive space, and a fast processor.  But what they have for video card performance is at the very bottom.

A person like TilDeath can help you design an actual gaming machine.  Or if you're interested in building your own, there are plenty of us in the Hardware/Software forum to help you.

mine isn't a walmart special. the guy built it for me, knowing my main reason for it was/is aces hi. he's a good guy. the one i was running on till this, was built by him for me.......6 years ago.

A system built by someone who knows what they are doing is the best.  Wal-Mart specials will not get you far with anything more than word processing.  I build on average about 6-8 custom rigs a year for friends and normally 1 for myself.  Just got done building one last week.  Be prepared to spend some money though.  People want the Wal-Mart price for the custom rig quality.  Unless the person building them is losing money, that won't happen.

GL Cap.  If you can't get ahold of tildeath for some reason, shoot me a pm I will get on the phone with ya and see if I can help.

Goes for anybody else too.  I will help if I can.

I bought one from TilDeath as well, I can't give the man enough praise.

If you're going to buy a machine, even or even build one yourself, talk to TilDeath first.

I gave him a shot at building one a little later this year...I start pricing and reading reviews about 6 months to a year before dropping $1500-$2000 on a system...and without much of a wait Rich came back and said that he could not compete with the current pricing on some of the items and then he gave me some suggestions to check for alternate components since he had some bad experiences with a few of the items I was asking for. For that reason alone I would probably buy something from him in the future or at least ask him to quote me first before I build another.

I don't think you will get any more straight advice from any magazine or review than you would Tildeath. Just my humble opinion from what I've seen on the forums. However, it never hurts to be educated.

Personaly I like building my own machines. I learn so much and it really is my baby.
