Title: Titanic issues
Post by: Chalenge on February 19, 2009, 08:50:58 AM
Every tuesday when titanic day hits the radar darbar loses accuracy and any contact that approaches about 7 miles of a secotr line will appear to be in the sector to the north of its real location. Also radar dots get confused and dont get updated so you can be talking to a squadmate that is just out of dot range but his dot appears to stay where you last had eye contact on him.

found a screenshot from several weeks ago on a TT... how is that red con showing up north of V52?

Takes a horde that big to take a vbase?

Back on topic:

I've seen squaddies light up on the map when they talk and it shows them being sectors away from where they really are.

A constant darbar in the middle of the map with no one actually being there

Drop tanks falling off of planes over and over again

Vox giving out

Frequent disco's as well

All are reasons I don't really want to log on come Tuesday night in addition to the horrible game play that accompanies the large crowds.  If I do log on it won't be for long or I'll go enjoy the MW or AvA.

TT is horrible.  Hopefully it will sink just like it's namesake.

When people enter the arena, it seems like they enter the map at the center and then move to their correct position. I always notice a darbar growing and shrinking at the center as the arena populates itself. I usually never try to do anything until that stops and the map is completely populated.
And while the above may or may not be true I do experience the symptoms people have mentioned here with the exception of the drop tank issue. I thought those random dots falling from planes had something to do with that pilot opening and closing his clipboard. Not sure if that is true or one of those AH rumors.
The thing I don't like the most of those mentioned is the mis-location of squad mates on the map.

When the arena population crosses 400-500 people, that never stops for me. Most notable on compello where I see eternal darbars in the central sector for hours.

I think it is. Some time ago I tested it, repeatedly opening & closing clipboard. A helpful enemy nearby confirmed the dots. Though of course I don't know if there are other possible reasons too.

When arena is really getting full I sometimes have big trouble to determine whether the intermittent popping darbar in a remote sector is a NOE raid inbound or just another phantom dar effect.

The thing I don't like the most of those mentioned is the mis-location of squad mates on the map.

Tuesday one of my squadmates was at 33 escorting bombers and another at 85 fighting tanks. I landed a good sortie and went to help at 85 when another squadmate was calling me to fly west 25 miles on the deck but we finally realized he was seeing my vox dot still north of 33.
