Title: Washington DC...
Post by: 1pLUs44 on February 22, 2009, 10:13:55 PM
Overall, I learned a lot about the North.

1. I apparently talk too slow
2. I'm too nice
3. I have a funny accent

^^was most of what I heard :lol

But, it was very pretty, the first day kind of sucked though.

I get to Houston, and I'm really tired, I had gotten up at 3 AM, I get to my terminal after eating a small breakfast, and I chill there, I hear something, and this HUGE mexican dude, beat up this old lady, took her purse, and tried to run off while Airport security arrested him :lol

I went to the Smithsonians (didn't see ANY WWII Planes except for like the basic 5 or 6), went to Patuxent, and I saw the new V-22 Osprey, and let me tell you, this thing is HUGE! We then drove behind the runway in our bus, and an F-18 taking off shook the bus with after burners, which was awesome. I got like 250 pictures.  :aok They're uploading right now, just got back.

No one in D.C. knows which way the wind blows is all you need to know.  :D

No one in DC is from DC.  Therefore we are considered some strange mix of everything.   :rock

No one in D.C. knows which way the wind blows is all you need to know.  :D

Friggin wind shifted directions 3 times during my 25 minute walk to work this morning.  :lol

Hope you enjoyed your trip!

You didn't go to Udvar-Hazy at Dulles Airport?

Thats where the Smithsonian has a large portion of it's collection, AR234, Fw190F8, N1K2-J, F4U-1, P-40E, the list goes on and on. The Collection at the Mall pales in comparison to the collection at Dulles.

I love D.C. My second wife took me there as a surpise anniversary gift in October 2003.  We were only there for a few days, so I didn't get to see everything I wanted.  Can't wait to get back, they were still working on the WW2 Memorial when we were there.  My favorite trip ever.

D.C.  38°N.
Nashvile  36°N.
I don't think its more than 250 miles.
Correct me if I'm wrong plz.

Having been to DC, I would have to say that it is more 'extremely Northern Southeast' than 'North'.

Well, you see...

Here in America, anyone born below the Mason Dixon Line (Old Border of the Union and Confederacy) is considered being from the South. Anyone above would be considered being from the North.

Old habits die hard.

:rofl  The same reasons I hate SoCal.  People are in too much of a rush down here, and they don't care who they piss off or how they do it, just as long as it gets them what they wanted.

I did like to screw with a lot of the people there. They'd ask me wierd stuff, and I'd answer it like a hick ( I think I brought BACK a redneck accent). I even went as far as to tell the stupid ones I rode a horse to school.

:rofl
