I been working on defensive skillls in my panzer.I found that if I target a specific area of the wing it will cut it off in 2 passes.I havent been able to use it on other single engine aircraft but the spitfire. Will this tactic work on the IL and pony or 47.On twin engine and radial engine I go for the engines. It may not kill but ends them limping home.So far I have been concentrating on the windshield of the IL.Is there a better spot to concentrate fire

Concentrated damage on a specific part always works. If you just shoot randomly at an aircraft it takes much more ammo to achieve critical damage than focusing it all in a wing, tail, stab, etc. Much like in your panzer you can target an enemy tank's turret and take that out first, then finish him off at your leisure.

I just watch where they come in at me from and never expose my rear, if i cant hit thm with my main gun i dont bother with pintle.

I always face em and have gotten alot of kills with the pintle-especiall on the big fat radials-navy planes seem to be the easiest to take down-open cowling to get into the engine.I am still looking for the sweet spot on the IL

If I can't get my main gun on target, I generally aim right for the cockpit with the pintle. Odds are pretty good (no matter what bird it is) that you'll get a pilot wound or oil leak, which is going to reduce effectiveness of further strafing. You could also get lucky and get a straight out kill on the pilot. Caliber doesn't much matter if you hit the pilot in the dome :aok

Hit em in da beak with the main gun and then you don't need concentrated fire.

In the panzer I stay moving agaisnt IL2s and range them with the coax and then fire HE. :D

The IL2 is a flying tank. I've pumped plenty of 20mms into it from my Mossie and I pull away to see it still flying, maybe a flap missing or something.

Radiator.
Won't kill them immediately but they don't last long after a hit there. Testimony from the IL-2 side.

ILII tail is weak. Unfortuneately they are usually coming at you.
