do you guys like the saitek PS38 Cyborg X? i just ordered one to be shipped yesturday.
i have to say it looks like a transformer.
-
one of my squaddies got it, he thinks it is pretty decent.
Time will tell on the durability though.

It actually is one. ;)

i recieved the cyborg x today and i'm not too pleased.
there is a good amount of dead zone in the x,y,z axis'.
some buttons have to be held firmly to trigger it and keep them active including the hat switch(initially i thought they didn't work).
the 3 legs are poorly positioned and when you nose down the base will tip forward if you dont use straight downward force as well, or use your left hand to hold the base.
if the throttle is zero then its partially blocking button 6(which doesn't effect button 6 how i configured it)
but it has a cool blue light. plenty of buttons. and controls are responsive(feels right).

try downloading ( or installing from disk) the SST software and using it - I can't speak to your cyborg but my X-52 was the same way until I configured the stick with Saitek's software...
-
The front page of AH should have an ad with that spaced out kid saying 'Dude your getting CH!' :D

hey thanks for that tip Blu. i used the drivers from the install disc and it fixed the dead zone issue. i really dont think i need the SST software though i like to keep my taskbar barebones.

you can't really complain about a $50 stick rumble is doing just fine with it,
obviously CH is the only other solution once you have some spare buckage.

i found this X52 stick for 30.00 + 8.00 s/h

my last saitek stick WAS a transformer..
first it transformed into a projectile, then it transformed into trash. :P

huh?
I think it's excellent. It has perfect smooth inputs. I just wish I had rudder pedals.
stran... using the whole throttle is waste.
"if the throttle is zero then its partially blocking button 6(which doesn't effect button 6 how i configured it)"
Set the right one to rpm, u should only use left one as throttle it wont obscure 6 button, which I use for range chan now..
I dont have any problems moving throttle forward.
The buttons could be better.
I dont have too many problems with hat switch or the buttons though, but I have strong man fingers :lol
The most important thing here is that the input is so perfect I can always turn on the edge and it has improved my flying from the X52. I'll be getting my x52 throttle back so button number wont be much of a problem. I'm making due now though.
you need to bind button to look view up it's the only possible place you can have it and be efficiently turnfighting.
Anyways it's a great stick for the price, best in the bracket. The smoothness of inputs are way better than x52.
It hasn't gone out of calibration once and ive had it for 3 weeks now.

the cyborg x finally let me down. the left side of the hat switch and the right side thumb buttons failed. i'm going to see if i can tinker with later.

You get what you pay for when it comes to joysticks. All I can say is bought one set all of my years flying way back in AW. Wrong had to get USB from analog two sets CH.
