$3.5M :huh  33 years out of annual?!? :lol

It's a novelty.  A very dangerous one at that.  I would looooove to do the annual on that thing.

Step away from the crackpipe. :rofl

you'd probably spend so much time trying to find parts, that it wouldn't be worth it.

Don't worry, it would take so much money for me to use my IA on that thing, he would have to add some more digits to that asking price. :D

Seeing all the idiots with cars they can barely drive, the idea of personal flying vehicles scares the crap out of me.

Don't know why this would scare you.  The DMV will make them take a test, all will be just fine, you worry for nothing.  :pray

They're supposed to test them before they let them drive cars too.

I remember seeing them things on TV in the early '90s and them saying that they had a working prototype, and commercial models would be available for sale "within a couple of years". That was, if I rcall correctly, in 1991 (it was on The Discovery Channel's "Beyond 2000" show). 18 years later and still don't see them.

They had a problem with microprocessor speeds and rotary power levels and all of those things have come of age now. They still havent tested the full flight capabilities and I think the primary delay today is regulation of the airways and streamlining production but really they just dont have the money to make them yet.

FUNNY THING IS that that one hasn't flown yet....to the best of my knowledge, whereas the one for sale not only flew, but was faa certified(i think)

Didn't they try to slap some wings on a jeep in WW2?

Watch out this guy is a hoer!

think of it as a the long awaited WELL NEEDED attrition...  for many years many many people who have no business operating anything anywhere.. have been clogging the roadways..

and now there is a solution

just don't fly for the first year, and watch for falling debris.

Im put off by the fact that buying it apparently results in scarf wearing dinosaurs invading your garage, I don't have time for that crap.

wait a few year, the next generation will probably look better, have higher performance, and less probability of Tyrannosaur.

hopefully by then, this model will have killed off all of the ones that have no place driving a car, much less flying an airplane........

That thing has one hell of a blind spot in car mode.  I can't believe this is the best anyone can come up with.

edit*

Then again, anyone with the know-how to come up with a good design is also smart enough to know what a bad idea a flying car for the masses would be.

yes.....and let's just overlook the fact that wings and single lane roads dont mix well.

I would rather have a driving plane than a flying car..  :aok
