Well it has been a seesaw weather week here in Alabama. Early last week we were in the upper 40's with rain and low 20's at night. Late in the week we were in the upper 60's with low 40's at night. Yesterday we woke up to 60 degrees and by 9pm it was back down around 40 and it had been raining since early Friday morning. Around 2am it was near freezing and started snowing...This is off my front porch this morning at 7am...we have a little over 2 inches.

We are supposed to have snow until midday and by then we will have close to 3 inches. They are saying that we will only stay in the 30's today so it will be a sit and watch kind of night to see what the roads will be like in the morning for us.

It's the global warming!
It's been below normal temps here in Indiana most of the winter. We had a stretch I think 20 days where the high never got above freezing....been a bad winter.

How often you guys get snow?

omg I had to go look.I live in LIncoln Ala and it dont happen much here. :O

oakranger,
We get about this much once or twice a year. Last year we got it in late January. We had some accumulation earlier in the northern part of the state but nothing down this far. My parents who live about 75 miles south of me have about the same amount and there are reports coming up from south Alabama (Troy and Dothan...near Fort Rucker) with about the same as well.

It's been pretty warm all winter here in southern PA. We got snow last night, too, but it's all gone now.

I can recall having unseasonably warm 86F early April my freshmen year in college. I went home for the weekend 2 days later and it was 30F and freezing rain.

Don't worry NOT we ended up with just under 5 inches and almost 100% of it was melted by 4pm yesterday. We did loose power for about 7 hours when limbs that had been loaded with snow suddenly snapped up and broke off before hitting the power lines below them. That was just a local thing though as there probably weren't that many instances of those types of issues around the area yesterday.

went from 80 on saturday to like 52 here in FL.
the front also brought some VERY strong winds, which made VERY choppy water in the gulf (i know i work on the water 14ft swells) which resulted in this http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/03/01/florida.missing.boaters/index.html
all over the news here, being that I was out on the water for sometime yesterday on a muuuuch bigger boat, I'd say these guys are in some serious trouble. I would also suggest to people never to go 50 miles off shore in a 21ft boat, espcially if a front is coming in.
I did get to see a bunch of jay hawks and C-130s out patroling, the largest or 2nd largest (i forget) air coast guard station is in clearwater, so they mobilized, but even with all that air power they cant seem to find these guys.
