I think it is time for one of these.
What planes are not yet in the game but could be added and see significant use?
I'm going to go with the P-63. Maybe the Me-410.
Other than that I really don't think there is anything that hasn't been added that wouldn't just be a hangar queen.
As far as hangar queens go...
Japan:
Ki-43
Ki-44
Ki-45
Ki-100
J2M
G4M
Germany:
Do 17
He 111
He 219 (I'd definitely play a BC scenario)
Night Fighter version of Ju 88 (C or G)
Italy:
C.200
CR.43
G.55
Re.2005
USSR:
I-16
Mig-3
Yak-3
UK:
Beaufighter
Gladiator
Beaufort
Defiant (lol)
US:
P-36
Buffalo
The game has actually come a long way. Pretty much all the 1945 hot-rods made it in, and since that is all people want to fly anyway I guess that is pretty good.

Disregard
-
A big gun version of the Ki-102 might not be a hangar queen.
UK:
Wellington B.Mk III
-
G.55 would not be a hanger queen...

Insightful assessment. However...

Yak-3 :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh -> Infinity. Or simply W :huh W!!
Beaufighter :huh :huh

Yeah...Beaufighter! :aok

Second that. A 300 mph torp runner with rockets and Hizookas :devil

Yak-3 definitely would not be a hanger queen. It's a better, and later, fighter than the Yak-9 and I see those often (model numbers are not in historical order, 3 came after 9).
-
Sorry... lost me after p-63. :D
-
I dont think the G.55, MiG-3 or Yak-3 would end up as hanger queens.
All would probably get G2-ish use, by the numbers.

My ol' list, fighters only.
VVS: The most unrespected national planeset in AH. The VVS rightfully deserves as many planes as LW or US or RAF planesets
* I-16: Nifty fun plane, an icon by itself symbolizing the early troubles of the VVS impacted by Barbarossa.
* Yak-7A: Started out as quikky substitute for the Yak-1 in shortage, then turned out to be the most common Yak variant of 1941
* Yak-1B: The evolutionary middle-phase of the 'light Yak' line which ultimately leads to the Yak-3. Great 1942 fighter
* Yak-3: The final stage of the 'light Yak', what the Yak-9U is to the 'heavy Yak' line
* Yak-9: The evolutionary middle-phase of the 'heavy Yak' line which ultimately leads to the Yak-9U. Great 1943 fighter
* LaGG-3: A noodlesplane which can't be left out in any real Eastern Front scenario/event
* La-5: The beginning of the 'Lala' legend, a much lacking predecessor of the La-5FN
IJN/IJAAF: So many pieces missing from the great Pacific War
* A6M-3: The big, missing, Zero between the 1941 A6M2 and the 1944 A6M5
* Ki-43: The most representative IJAAF fighter of the early war period
* Ki-44: A mid-war IJAAF fighter
* Ki-45: A Japanese twin-engine, heavy fighter, sorta like what the Bf110 is to the LW
LW: A most complete set, although perhaps one or two missing loops
* Fw190A-3: Not a crucial necessity, but a good, representative early war Fw190 suitable for post-BoB English Channel scenarios/events
* Bf109G-10: The high-alt, gap-closer between the Bf109G-14 and the Bf109K-4
RAF: Can't think of anything
USN/USAAF: Don't fediddlein' need any more
RA/other: Hey, they fought in the War, too. They should deserve it
* Re.2005: Comparable to the C.205, but substantially better high-alt performance. Excellent mid-war addition for the Regia Aeronautica.
* IAR.81C: The Romanian fighter, meeting 'their finest hour' at Ploesti
* D.520: A nifty French fighter almost being a match against the LW planes during the BoF
* M.S.406: The most numerous French noodlesplane during the BoF, good for BoF scenarios/events
* F2A: Have to satisfy the Finns, or else the world will come to Armageddon

Beaufighter
Mossy bomber
Russian bombers
A-26
G55
Betty
Judy
Oscar
Minelayers (note: these are not planes :)). Would be nice to keep cv groups from parking offshore and vulching you with auto-ack.

What I'd like to see:
G.55
Beaufighter
What I think we might end up with:
P47-C
P47-M
P51-A
P38-F
PBY Catalina
-
I don't think we will ever see the 4x20mm P-51, no matter how bad people want it.
As far as the title of "hangar queen" goes, its just a subjective assessment of what sort of use I would expect to see.
I wouldn't expect any of the planes I listed to be top 10. Not even the P-63.

Great assement, the only thing I'd add would be to the LW,they are sorely lacking in highalt versions.
So to this I'd add G6, G14 asm"s,simple to do just rework power curves to represent the high alt performance of these existing A/C.

A few I don't think have been mentioned yet in this thread:
P-51A
P-38H
TBD
Spitfire XII
Fw 190A-6
Fw 190A-9
Ju 87G
Hs 129
Ju 188
He 177
Ju 52
Ju 88S
-
P-36.

There is no such thing as a "hanger queen". The planes are perfectly willing to fly. It's the pilots, who have to pass the "stones" check to fly them!
Helm ...out

Many defend the fact that adding more planes is not the best investment for HT development dollars. Some prefer pretty water etc.. Fair enough. :salute
If HT added 75% of all these planes mentioned in this thread I'd just go right ahead and pre-pay the next three years right now. Bam!
Enough said.

It's not the attractiveness of the water, it's the ability to better judge your altitude over it. If you tend to fight in the vertical, doing so at low altitude over the current water is a real pain.

Considering the size and scope of operations worldwide I'm kinda surprised there isn't more support for another British carrier born aircraft. An attacker would do fine. The Fairy Firefly would do even finer.http://www.warbirdalley.com/firefly.htm
One fighter plane is not a good enough representation for Great Britain. A huge naval power at the time.

Isn't the wish list elsewhere?
