I use email and a telephone....I hate chat programs....I used to use ICQ way back in the day and then I got over the whole chat room and chat thing.

I once used ICQ until i received a terrorist threat from a guy in Pakistan one month after 9/11. That tool box pull the biggist mistake of his life for i got his full name, lives, schools he got his degree, and where he works. it was enough to put him on the CIA, FBI terrorist list.

I think having your name put on the FBI/CIA watch list constitutes being "turned in"

I've gone through MSN, MS Live, Yahoo, IMVU, Trillian, Myspace IM, one I forget the name for, Skype, and AIM. I have yet to keep anything but AIM for more then 2 weeks. :)
-
I used to use the big 3 years ago (MSN, AIM, ICQ). But my group of friends generally shifted away from the latter two. Currently I use MSN (using trillian, theres enough MSN hijackings the way it is), and Skype. But I don't chat on Skype, I use it for phone calls since my cell phone reception in my building is pretty bad.
-
My favorite would have to be IRL, its more up to date, and does video messaging with out needing high speed internet.
-
Wow. Couldnt tell you the last time I used a chat program for anything other then to Instant Message my daughter two rooms away and tell her its time to start looking for the school bus in the morning.
Probably been a couple years since I've been in any kind of instant message conversations with anyone.
-
AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo. aka Trillian.
-
MSN Live Messenger only. My first email adress was hotmail i think so i just stuck with it and so does all my family and friends. Stopped using the email part of it several years ago though.

Telephone

What i cant stand about trillian is its ability to do "everything" but NOTHING correctly.
Cant send/get files, half the functions dont work, or work half arsed, if they work at all.

Mine does everything just fine so long as the firewall's set up right about 90% of the time. Even then, the only people it sometimes gets quirky with for me are the people that use the regular chat programs and don't maintain their computers properly.

I had a similar experience.....
I once discovered who turned over the port-o-can down the street.

seems like it works fine with AIM, msn won't let me transfer anything though.

I don't like the entire concept of chat. I stick with email.
