I like it just fine but I wish I had more space to mount it to.

By the number of views to replies I guess not many people have the Quadrant.

I think more people would use the Pro Throttle (http://www.provantage.com/ch-300-122~7CHPU00L.htm). Seems a bit more versatile with all the hat switches and all.

I have both and I use the throttle quadrant mostly for prop pitch (rpm) in AH. Its handier in FSX. I think the best setup would be a split/grip dual throttle made from a Pro Throttle but I am not up to making one.

I've got one.  Don't like it much.  Don't use it much either.  It sits up too high and the mounting system is really goofy.  The levers get stiff sometimes and others get a bit sloppy.  I don't think the quality is there like with the FighterStick and Pro Throttle.  The only thing I use on mine are the paddle switches across the front.

If I was really interested in a throttle quad, I'd probably get the Saitek ones.  Those are designed much better I think though I don't know about the quality as I've never put my hands on one.

Homeboy I would like to have a Pro Throttle with part of the Throttle Quadrant mounted to either side. If you can picture a Pro Throttle with pitch and mixture control added to the sides (two levers each side). Would that be cost prohibitive to create or structurally unsound?

EDIT: On second thought I would still need the throttle itself split in two.  :frown:

IMHO, this is the best use of a CH Throttle Quad:

My friend Ken King builds these.  Here is his ad:  http://snomhf.exofire.net/FrankenPotato.html

There are obviously other ideas, as Chalenge mentions, but I think outfitting your PT with these trim axes and having the switches across the front really enhances the usefulness of the device.  One of these days, I'll probably move my TQ into my PT and have my own version of the Franken-Potato.

I've got one, and use it always. The main issue is comfort and position of the unit. It's too tall by far to mount on a regular desk surface. For comfort's sake you must mount it LOWER than your joystick, so that when you rest your hand on the lever tops, it's a "usable" position, and not one that'll give you carpal tunnel.

I have a desk that has a sliding tray for the keyboard. I hate these. I move my keyboard around and depending on what games I'm playing or what I'm typing it'll be all over the place. So what I did was remount the sliding tray and mount the throttle quad onto THIS lower surface, which gave me an additional 5 inches or so to lower the height of my quad.

Without this I think I may have given up on it, or tried to mount it to the chair arm or something. The buttons are nice but unless you have the right wrist position/placement you won't be able to reach half of them with your thumb while your finger knuckles retain position on the lever-arm knobs.

I've got different modes mapped out in AH. 2-engine planes (most used) has from left to right, aileron trim, elev trim, RPM1, RPM2, THROT1, THROT2.

My alternate mode is elev trim, RPM1, THROT1 through THROT4 (for use with 4-engine bombers).

Since I use a hat view I have the most convenient button (right most) down-position mapped to "head up" that way I get 8-ways + up views on any of those 8 ways. Makes SA second nature after a little practice.

Definitely a quality piece of equipment, but the ergonomics need a little work.

One thing I hate about it is the physical detents on the rear most part of the axis motions. I wish I could open her up and remove those. It screws with fine-tuning trim and such.

Whatever happened to the dual throttle mod you were working on with Del testing it out?

Laziness really.   :o
Too many projects (home repairs, etc.) along with playing too much tennis and pool.  :)
I may resurrect that project some day.
