Title: Spit 16 flap bug
Post by: Gr8pape on March 03, 2009, 07:35:27 AM
I fly the spit 16 rarely but when I do I am used to flying it like every other plane, and when I come in to land I use my flaps, problem is when I engage flaps on a spiteen I get discoed, every time. I am not the only one either a lot of my squadmates have experienced the same problem, just thought I would let you guys know. It kinda makes you, I don't want to say mad, but lets say not "happy" when you have kills to land and hit the flaps and you get discoed.

Are you using custom sounds?  They can cause the problem you describe.

There is one custom sound pak out there with a spit flap sound that crashes you to the desktop. Which sound pak are you using? Maybe we can get the editor of that pak to fix it.

That is absolutely a custom sound pack bug.

Rangers sound pack does have bug with the spit16 flaps. Hit flaps and disco. It's a easy fix though. Just delete the spit16 flaps sound and repalce with the flaps from another spit. :salute

I tested his pack same for me the flap sound isn't the right "Audio Sample Rate" no higher than 22kHz
and its at 44kHz A simple over sight
He can easily fix it As uptown described or change the audio sample rate

maybe gavagai hit the nail on the head,

a simple oversight when it comes to the spit 16 and none of the other rides.  I bet it was an evil plot the whole time  :noid

I accept the blame.  Gavagai approached me and I placed the wheels in motion.   :furious

This has never been reported to me.  I use the same pack that I have out, so I don't know how it has happened.  I checked the one on my pc and it's the correct format.  Weird.  Anyhoo, here is the one I have in my pack, and there's never been an issue.  Thanks for pointing this out.

Just downloaded it off my host to check it out.  The flap sound for the 16 is in the correct format, so I don't know what happened with yours.  Do you have a mixed pack by chance?  If not, it's really weird because it is correct in the download.

To fix it, either copy & paste from another Spit folder or use the link above.  Sorry for any inconvenience. :salute
