Title: Anyone been able to get a P51 up to 42k?
Post by: fdiron on June 06, 2000, 11:58:00 AM
The service cieling for the P51D was 41,900 feet.  In Aces High, I have only been able to get the P51 up to 37k.  Anyone been higher than that?

Uh oh. I can only reach about 38,500ft.

Heres the climb graph from the HTC webpage:
  (http://www.hitechcreations.com/images/charts/p51dclimb.gif)
Which if you extended back to 0 fpm, it would reach about 38,000ft I guess.

Heres a military power climb chart from www.zenowarbirdvideos.com. (http://www.zenowarbirdvideos.com.)
  (http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/Images/P-51/51MPC.gif)
Which shows a positive climbrate at 40,000ft for a light weight load.

Juzz;

Climb rates shown on your chart and the HTC graph also seem off by a significant amount.
