The Strike Bandits was formed with some of the remains of the Bad Company Squad a year of so back. We are a laid back squad without rules or ranks. It is common practice to rag on each other, and make jokes at the expense of squad mates :D. This is all in good fun, and should not be taken seriously.
Somethings you can look forward to as a Strike Bandit:
-Busting hordes
-Furballing as much as you like
-K/D is not of any importance
-Vulching is avoided in order to allow for better fights
-Dueling is used for fun, as well as a learning tool
-We do not participate in horde missions
-Some very knowledgeable players willing to help hone skills
AH is a game, and we treat it that way. We do not care about winning or losing the fight, it is the fight itself that we enjoy most.
Sound like you might fit in? If so feel free to PM me, reply to this thread, or just find me in game. You can feel free to take a "test run" of the squad to ensure that you fit in.

Jerkins is a good guy, I doubt you'll have any problems with him.
Good luck. :aok

GL with the squad jerkins :aok

Thanks for the kind remarks. Let me also mention that the CO of the squad is Jamusta (A long time veteran). I am just taking the lead in recruiting and generating some interest in the Strike Bandits.

You were one of my original "trainers" who taught me the F4U, along with ACM in General. Thanks man, and good luck with your squad!

We spy.

I'm still looking forward to winging up with you guys and seeing what you're squad is like. This past weekend ( http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,260665.0.html ) and week (work/women) my schedule has been busy, hope to catch you guys soon (is there a squad night when most of you are on?).

We do not have a squad night currently, we just fly whenever we have the time.
I understand the busy thing, sadly I have been pretty hit or miss this past week as well. I'm in the process of trying to finish up my senior project in mechanical engineering so to say I'm "busy" doesn't quite do it justice.
-
Oh, I understand.
<- Drafting Monkey
Good luck with your senior project, if you succeed you'll be delegating tasks to and ordering my kind around in no-time. Just remember, the young-monkey drafters don't know squat and the older-apes know how to get sh!@ done and probabley know more than you do (in the specific field they've been working their entire career in), utilize your drafting monkeys accordingly.

Hey,
Sounds like the group I am looking for.
I played like 10 years ago for a couple years before it was Aces High, whoever hitech worked for before doing his own game I can't remember. I was young (in grad school) and had crappy computer with crappy controls. A friend at work got me hooked and I was in his squad. I Played all the time though loved it did a little better once got rudder pedals and saitek stick. I am left handed so throw all the throttle setups out the window.
I have a little bit of real flight experience, I can fly 152's, we had planes growing up.
Most Important, I suck, I am just not that good in the game getting a lot better though since I picked it up again.
I don't take it serious and do take it serious, In that I don't care if I get the toejam job. I just love go at it with a group, hit a base, defend a carrier, it is all fun for me. I can't promise "X" number hours but have agreement with wife I get to play 2 nights a week for a couple hours.
I can't take on any planning responsibility for missions but I will take any assignment given when I can show up. And if there are those in the squad that like to coach I definitely can use the OJT. That's it.
Also in Austin, Texas CST.

OK, but I bought a pocket fisherman and a Ronco Mr. Microphone in the 70's.
My old squad disbanded and I was out of game for awhile...need a 40 something that gets killed by 12 year old hotshots give me a shout...

Is Jerkins still the only one doing the squad invites? He never seems to be online at the same times I am.

I was informed by Jerkins (and another one of your squadies) and know about how he has been very busy lately, so there's been no foul or ball dropped. I'll try proding you now though that you've offered.
I've been waiting to catch Jerkins online since Scotch and him propositioned me at the begining of March. I know I'm not the most active MA player, but...

You can send an invite even if they aren't online, it will pop up next time they log in.
-
Oh cool I didnt know that.
Babalon you should have an invite waiting for you. :D (unless of course I screwed it up)
-
I'll check it out when I get home tonight (in about 70 minutes), thanks Stodd. :salute
I haven't had a chance to fly this weekend since the scenario (was helping a friend put down wood flooring in his room). I'm looking forward on catching up tonight with some flying time and beers that I've left neglected in my fridge this whole weekend.
Send him an invite stodd. He's a good dude with the right mindset! :aok
If you think that means there will be one less plane in the horde hot on your tail... maybe... if you're not in a P-38. :salute

All we look for are players with good attitudes that want to have fun. Fly what you want when you want how you want.
