Most of the time if the sinking is reported on country, (which it should be) you get the same effect.  Don't see how this would add anything to the game...

Nope.

I am all for doing away with the "name in lights" thing, or at a minimum I dont need to know who I shot down. I'm getting tired of reading "You shot down Joker" and "You shot down Pacerr".  It gets old.   ;)

But seriously, I dont think I need to know and they dont need to know who shot who down.

Nice try. No my suggestion was to fix the 'sickness' in the main arena that you and others like you suffer from. And it might help to slow down the whining on 200 too not that I care about that.

I just want to get my name in lights for flying more than 5 minutes.

"System: FenderJ has successfully flown for more than 5 minutes"

Now that I'd like.

Eh, no. I love bombing, but I get enough attaboys on country channel for sinking a CV.

Only positive thing I could hope to come out of this is that if their names get in lights, perhaps they won't Lanc-Stuka the CV and try a more survivable approach.

What's next? "some name blew up the fh at a21"? I wish I could turn off the whole text buffer all together. I don't want to know who I killed or killed me.

There should be no accolades for anything that does not involve human opponents, and even then, the bar needs to be raised a bit, just to cut down on the crap. This constant need for attention and positive reinforcement for the simplest, most idiotic tasks (not just in games) is rather pathetic.

Summary:
Highlight the name of the suicide monkey.
No one ever said there was a perfect way of sinking a ship without dying.

I kind of agree. Ships are hard targets to hit, and it deffinitly has an effect on your opponents capabilities, I'd enjoy seeing it IFF you are able to RTB and LAND...

yea, i can see it now..  you sink a carrier and then get berated and griped at by your countrymen becaue the CV you sunk isnt "where the war is" or because they were furballing with it..

name in lights would be like saying "soinso just ruined your fun"

My buddy BlakHawk used to kill alot of CVs, one month he sunk like 4-5 a day but his bomber score wasnt even under 100, cvs should be better then hitting strats. I think the name with cv killed would be redundent just because you usually put it out on country so other bombers in area dont go after it either.

The whole no human opponents thing is crap.  When locating CV's its a very time involved process.  That is unless you already know where it is.  Then there are the CV vulchers waiting for buffs to come in.  Lastly if you want any chance for survival you need to be at least 15k trying to hit a moving target while getting tailed by C hogs.  Not to mention your probably going to kill an hour getting there and back.  A little scooby snack would be nice if you land it.

Just pull up your text buffer and type,  System:ToeTag just sank the CV.   I'm so smart I just scare myself sometimes.

As long as there are accolades for the computer opponents, for instance:

SYSTEM: ChooChoo landed 4 kills of score-tards in a TRAIN of The Little Engines That Could

I like killing boats when appropriate. I think they should be much harder to kill. Points and names in lights I don't really care about.
