Title: New skins downloading
Post by: Lusche on March 05, 2009, 10:30:51 AM: .. again and again.

I log on, get them by auto-download. Can use them fine (for example the new TA 152 skins). Quit the game.
When I log on again, it's as they never had been there, download starting all over. No anti-vir software running.

Post by: Skuzzy on March 05, 2009, 10:50:27 AM: Is the "skins.res" file marked read-only? The TA-152H skins are all updates. Are the ones in your "skins" folder marked read-only?

Just guessing here as I cannot duplicate the problem.

Now after some time I get message: "ta152_1.res downloaded". I check folder: Yes, there it is. Not write-protected, nothing special. Can select it in hangar, too.
I quit game. Still in folder. I start game again & go online - The file is gone.
Using XP SP2 btw. Never had this problem before.

Edit: Getting even stranger. I just downloaded ta 152H_4.res manually from webpage. Put it into skins folder. Start game - nada. All TA skins still red, even though the _4.res is still in folder. It also doesn't get deleted when I leave game like it does with the ones I got via auto-download. It's simply not there for AH.

The TA-152H skins are all updates and they would be removed if you downloaded them from the server. I have gone ahead and removed the old ones from the server.

Nevermind! Just remove the "skins.res" file from the skins folder.

When I log in the only red skin for P-38Js is the 479FG/435FS by Oboe.
My p38j-1 res file is dated 11/4/2008 2:46pm and file size is 299kb and not marked read only.
I do have autodownload skins in background enabled.
