Title: We need it!
Post by: Wilbus on January 03, 2001, 07:17:00 AM
The Luftwaffe guys feal a little left out since we don't have historical cockpits. What we need is the possibilty to choose between original cockpits (LW planes metric system) and what we have now, much like you can in WB. I've heard Hitech's arguments against this, it would cause too much confusion. I flew WB for quite some time and it allmost never caused any confusion, those times it did, it was easy to fix by simple head count.
realistic cockpits with historical instrument, metric system for LW, and MPH for US and Brittish planes, is something we really need to increase the fealing in the Sim. Allso, realistic ammo counters woule be great.
Don't know who decides over the cokcpit look but consider it again, please!

Ok, what about space to pin up my Varga Girl in the cockpit? I'm sure that's historically correct (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I'm not funked (the person that is :-), but:
12 inches to the foot.
3 feet to the yard.
5 1/2 yards (16 1/2 feet) to the rod (or pole or perch).
40 rods (220 yards) to the furlong.
8 furlong, or 1,760 yards, or 5,280 feet to the mile.
3 miles to the league.
AND
7.95 inches to the link.
100 links (66 feet) to the chain.
10 chains (220 yards) to the furlong.
80 chains (8 furlongs) to the mile.
AND
160 square rods or 4,840 square yards or 43,560 square feet to the acre.
640 acres to the square mile.
What's so hard about that. :-)
P.S. fortnight is 14 nights, or 2 weeks. Furlongs per fortnight squared is a joke about the "ease and order" of the system.

One word : my GOD ! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) What a strange system (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) A more strange system for you :
1 millimetre = 1/1000 metre 1 centimetre = 1/100 metre 1 decimetre = 1/10 metre 1 metre = 1 metre
Odd an strange no ? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Metric is as logical as counting to 10 the rest is unlogic point out.
It was a smart move, to measure things not with ur body parts (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) In EAW the german cocpits use the metric system btw.
And it's confusing when u only fly allied But not too much trouble to overcome
i'm glad time is universal

How about realistic ammo counters? What we have now feels a little gamey to me; I want to have the Clint Eastwood "do you feel lucky" feeling. Liked it in EAW; not really knowing if you have enough ammo to fight it out fully adds a dimension to the game.
