Figured I'd post them up for no good reason
Rented the Tiger from the flight school the other day and flew to Apalachicola to see a friend, ate lunch in town then headed back. I made use of my newly aquired instrument rating to file IFR down and back - first solo flight in "the system". It was VFR conditions all over the southeast, but it was a lot of fun to punch up through the thin overcast and cruise down on-top of the clouds. On the return trip I requested a cruise clearance from 5 to 6,000 so I could skim the clouds, that was great fun. Was 260nm away - took a little under 5 hours round trip with a stop at LaGrange, Ga. on the way back.

Pretty rough around the edges, could use a new paintjob - but looks presentable from that distance, lol. Nice avionics though, the GNS 430 has WAAS.

How much does that rent out for?
I love going for the $100 hamburger. My first date with my wife was a $100 piece of pie.
But recently for the prices of 172s locally, it ends up being a $500 hamburger! :cry

I, good sir, envy you. Great pictures! :aok

Nice, going to have to wing up on FSX again.

What alt were you flying at?

Thanks guys :)
How much does that rent out for?
It's $109/hr - actually a bit cheaper than most of the 172's at the flight school but it's a heck of a lot more fun to fly - and faster. It cruises at ~130-132 kts TAS. I can't afford to be flying it around that much though, this trip was kind of just rewarding myself for getting the instrument rating. Wish I could take trips like it more often. I need to talk ol' pops into selling the Cub and getting an IFR RV-8 with autopilot, haha.
What alt were you flying at?
Was at 6,000 most of the way down and back. They dropped me to 3,000 as I entered the Tyndall AFB MOA - it was hot with some F-15's operating in the area, was waiting to see one of them zoom by me, but never did :lol
Nice, going to have to wing up on FSX again.
Heh yea that was fun!
