when he tries to go under the bridge is hilarious...

this guy has never skippered a boat I think.

the sad thing is if he gets 10 or 12 logs truly on the bottom (the ones sticking out are WORTHLESS) he'll be richer than most of us :(

I doubt that will happen, I saw a special on those once, and the weight of them waterlogged you need a crane on a platform 3 times the size of that pontoon boat he's using. real pro's in upper MI and MN use huge equipment to get that stuff, even then if you don't cut it right it becomes worthless.

Let's see... Loggers, history, the History Channel. Are present day loggers making noteworthy history? If not then get 'em the hell off of the history channel.

Remember Stump Branch logging....the company made out of spare parts that was always doing stupid things?  Evidently they didn't make it back (duh) so they got these marine salvage guys to fill the "stupid" spot.  Watched last night and thought what they need is a 2nd District sailor, those boys know how to run a boat in river current and throw a lasso   :rock

Remember when MTV had music videos on it?  Sensing a trend in cable television?

Watched it last night.  What was so danged funny, is the skipper of that floating hunk of junk blew his own oil filter and then never remembered to put gas in his winch motor.  Then it went the way of the dodo.  And the whole time he is cussing and telling his son he is doing it wrong.  I truly hope it is an act or that guy would be at the top of my stupid list.  What a moron.

I remember when MTV came out, had videos and hosts that actually shared info about the bands and the songs the performed.  Used to be a rather informative and watchable channel.

Agree totally.

Add Ice Road Truckers and a whole bunch of other nonsense that seems to be *history* on that channel.

The guy on the boat is going to get someone killed. I'll have to laugh if he gets that log unstuck and it starts dragging them down stream. I'm not sure that little outboard will have enough power to control the barge and the log once the log is free in that current. Of course I'm not sure he'll ever get the log unstuck.

Like Mustaine pointed out the log sticking out of the water isn't worth anything. The wood has to be submerged without exposure to the air for it to be valuable.

No historical value what so ever.

Kind of like poker and pool on ESPN?

I hated Ice Road truckers, I just don't see much "apparent danger"

I really do like Ax Men, it can do a combo of put me to sleep easily, but I can watch it easily too without always getting tired as well. If that makes sense.

Poker, yes...pool maybe...but billiards, THAT is a sport....waaaaay harder than pool.

I really don't mind that there are shows on Ax men or Ice Road Truckers, but keep that on Discovery Channel or something.

This morning I had a really large dump.  Should that be on the history channel?  It's historical.

;)

Ice Road Truckers was okay. I feel one danger I would always be afraid of if I was driving up there is me falling through, someone else falling through or losing my load.

Guess what I saw on the news the Aqua logg crew the dumb*** who ran the boat into the bridge got huge fines.  They are claiming they removed the logs without a permit, and that the logs had been acting as part of the river ecosystem! Sucks to be them lol :lol

The same "ecosystem" logic is one of the reasons for huge forest fires due to all the dead fuel at the lower levels of the trees.  Do we really need old, dead trees in a river that wouldn't be there if not for logging to begin with?  Now, if they're tearing things up to get to the logs, like the banks and approaches to the river, that's a different story.

If I understood the article correctly they are worried about damage to the riverbed from removal of the trees.

They shouldn't be worried... Those idiots couldn't pull a stick out of the river if they tried.
