was wondering why you cant turn around on carrier decks? Also will we ever be able to later on. would be nice to be able to turn around and get on the hot load point.
RWY out !!

the hotload point is the catch wires, if u land and catch the wires u reload automaticly, but that means landing/using a plane that has a hook.

You CAN turn around....have done it twice. Just remember to use the left or right wheel brake (depending on which way you wanna wheel around) and full rudder the same direction with light throttle input. Then taxi back to the hotpad....refuel/rearm..turn her back around and takeoff.

I backed up to them in a P-38.
Get a very, VERY slight amount of forward movement to unlock the brakes and then fire your guns. The "thrust", e.g. kick, from the guns will start you rolling backwards. Once you are where you want to be, stop the plane.
I recommend using the throttle to stop the plane because, at least in the P-38s case, it is not balanced to stop in reverse and will tip backwards.
No, you may not ask how I know that. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/redface.gif)

I do it the same way as Karnak describes except firing the guns. I am sure it will go faster if you use them (had fun in 1.04 seeing how fast I could go backwards because of recoil (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)), but will of course mess up your hit%.
Can also be nice using to get a longer start run if you have a heavy plane and the default run seems too short. The backwards roll i mean, not firing your guns on T/O (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

i cant seem to get the planes to turn around.
I use the brake just like you described.
What plane were you in when you did this ?

RWY....have done it successfully with the Kitty Kat and the YAK.

i tried it several times with a seafire and a 51. Neither of those 2 seem to be able to do it.

I have use G-10 often in Carriers (other planes too)
All you had to do is after plane is stopped add little throttle and watch how she begins to roll backwards (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
In some bombers I had to use only one engine, guess two or more were giving too much thrust.

guys if u land and catch the wires like ur suppose to, u will rearm automaticly
without haing to backup or turn around.

Landed & rearmed a Lanc this morning but chickened out on the takeoff & exited instead.
Was a fun end to a good sortie though (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Whels planes I did fly didn't got a hook (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
