What new software?  Did Saitek come out with something new for the X45?  For AHII?  I use the X45, but I'm not sure what you're asking for.

from what i read they got new profile software and drivers

What profiles?  You don't need drivers OR a profile..  If you're running XP or Vista, just plug the sucker in and it should detect it automatically..
After that, set up your buttons,etc. in AH and you're good to go..

i was trying to get it setup couldnt for some reason .. my X52 i had worked like a charm .. i pluged my ST290 back in and it worked fine too.. not sure why my X45 having issues.

i got it working without the profile editior so i am good now
