Thats the one.
The 234/1 would be cool too. Only has a 20mm and mg but from pictures ive seen it can be elevated enough to be effective against aircraft too.
-
I like the idea of the Puma. This could become the preferred way to race in and drop a town quickly. Two Puma's and an M3 could probably get the job done in a real hurry.

I say NO...just because Nilsen requested it. :P

It's not the same 20mm Hispano we typicaly fly around with (which is 20mm x 110mm I think), the 20mm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon used a 20mm x 138mm round that came in AP and HE varieties. That thing in AH would (or should) be brutal against medium-light armor and softer targets like buildings and infantry.
It wasn't made in large quantities, but I would love to see the Sd.Kfz 234 in AH, all of it's varients if possible.

20x138mm: Same cartridge the Wirbelwind is using.

It has thin armor and would be taken out just as easily as the M8. I vote "no" until a legit tank destoyer (M18), self propelled infantry support cannon(Sdkf 251/9), and a British tank is introduced (Cromwell). ;)

I know it's the same cartridge that the FlaK 30/38 used, but I don't know what type of round our WW in the game is useing (I'm assuming HE). The rounds for a KwK 30 L/55 in a Sd.Kfz 234 should be swapable so that the tanker can choose the right round for the job.

The 234/1 would be ideal for those times when you need the speed of an armored car (say to cut off LVT's on the way to town). Although "only" a 20mm, AP @ 280 rounds per minute is nothing to laugh at if you're in an LVT or M3.

Well yeah, it's an armored car. No one expects it to go toe-to-toe with a tank and win (although I've seen plenty of guys do it in M8's). It's a scout vehicle, or probably what's best described as a "rapid response" vehicle in AH. The Sd.Kfz 234 (just like the M8) would have it's role in AH.
If HTC did add the 234, it would be really cool if they enabled the ability for the radio operator to drive. Anyone know how fast this thing goes in reverse?
-
I would like to see more armored cars added to the game. The ones I would like to see added are:
Humber Mk IV Armoured Car
Humber LRC Mk IIIA
Humber Scout Car
Panhard 178
T17E1 Armored Car
Autoblinda 41
Sd.Kfz 222
ack-ack

IIRC it actually has drivers compartments on both ends so, technically, it has no reverse.
;)

As far as i have read about it the Puma was the "best" and the best armored of this type of vehicle in ww2, but yeah it would still be an easy kill compared to tanks :)
The speed and the 50mm would be very handy though. Deacking with the added protection of abit more armor and the longer range of the 50mm would be easyer than with the m8. Against LVTs closing fast on a town and for hunting M3s it would also be a fun little thing to have :)
-
wasn't there a puma with a 75mm cannon on it? :D
opposum
-
yea I just looked it up, the 234/3 and the 234/4 versions had 75mm cannons
I would rather have the 234/4 because it looked like the 3 model was for fortifications not armor :D :D :D
-

Well, it had eight reverse gears, just as many as gears forward. Not sure how the reverse gears were geared compared to the forward gears but I still assume it was pretty fast on reverse too. :D
EDIT/Sorry, it was actually 6 gears forward and 5 reverse./EDIT

Neither had turrets, and both had open tops.
And I don't believe the 1,3,or 4 versions were referred to as "Puma." All are the same vehicle, but have different armaments. And we don't refer to every M4 variant as a Firefly, do we? ;)

WE HAVE NO UNMODIFIED U.S. TANKS
-
Yes to the Puma.

That rear compartment is the radio operator's. In a pinch he could drive, so yeah, there's no reverse.

I vote yes, all we have are slow uber tanks that only pull 25 and some weak little dirbble that you can take with a few cannon rounds. It would give you a gray area between power and speed. :aok
