I was watching a T.V show and it talked about I.Q, so I decided to look up online who has the highest I.Q score, so I found this website that was about I.Q's, it was started by a guy who basically had the same question I did but couldn't find the info all in one spot, so he created this website, The highest was Physicist / Engineer Kim Ung-yong who scored 210, one of the more unusual things was the number 2 guy, Bouncer Christopher Michael Langan with a score of 195, the guy has an I.Q of 195 and he's been working as a bouncer in a bar the last 20 years.
Towards the bottom of the page it has a good I.Q test to take, one of the better ones I've seen, it's based on spatial acuity, there's 40 questions & you get 40 min, they start off easy, but they do get harder, much harder, if you don't know an answer don't guess as it will penalize you for guessing, just move on to the next question. it will give you your score at the end, at the top of the website it has a I.Q traditional ranking, so you can see where you fall after getting your score. I got a score of 112, the ranking says that 90 - 109 is average, so I'm just above that. I was able to get about 30 of the 40 solved, left about 10 blank. So try it out and post your score, remember it takes 40min though.

Don't click the link at the top that says "Click here for your free IQ test", goto the one towards the bottom that says "Test YOUR IQ" and has a blue screen.

Last 10 or so where mind numbing. I anwsered all but 3...with a few guesses. Scored 107....not bad for construction worker...I think.
-
Yeah those last 10 were really difficult, there was only 2, maybe 3 of them I think I was able to answer.
See the thing with that test though is it will actually penalize you for guessing, it's better to not answer it if you don't know it.
-
I really struggled with 36, 37, 39. Of those I only left 36 +39 blank I think...friggin rubix cubes. Got a 121 though, not too shabby I guess. I overheard my mom talking about my IQ test scores from when I was young, and I've most certainly killed off some brain cells since then if those are to be trusted :lol
-
114. That one that looked like rubic's cubes made my head hurt.
-
cool test
can tell im getting dumber in my old age, i only scored a 121.
cant believe it took almost 6 min to figure out the last one, felt like a tard sitting here looking at all the pretty colored boxes. think i got lost in the colors cause it wasnt that hard to figure it out once i just looked at it, that was the only one i took more than a half a minute on, but from my score i should have taken a little more time on some of them.

133 finished in less than 15 minutes with interruptions at work
The Internet says I'm smart!
-
146. I did another one of these about 3 years ago and got 145. Guess the Alzheimer's hasn't kicked yet.
-
Hmmm, 135.
I am so smrt.....
I mean, smart :D
-
Just to make sure, I'll state this again, don't click on the IQ test that you see right when you get to the web page, make sure your going to the test at the bottom of the page where you click on the test in the blue screen, thats the test that evaluates visual spatial reasoning skills, and not verbal IQ test, that test at the top is just a b/s test and I think thats the one some of you are going to because the last 2 there scored 146 & 135 and to get those scores with the test at the bottom is kinda unlikely as less then 1% of the population scores over 134, I mean if you were using the test at the bottom then wtg.
-
Oh, the blue screen, not the test below that where it says to start here and then when your done, it wants you to sign up for a bunch of free offers. :uhoh

Yeah the blue screen, it's the one that shows you the 3 rows of things, and you have to interpret what comes next.
Here's a direct link to the IQ test you should be using.

I was wondering how some people were scoring that high, that spatial acuity 40 question 40min test is hard, some must not have read which test I said to take in my OP & have been taking on the wrong test.
-
It says "Above end 140" with standard deviation = 16
Is this the test you meant?

For the record, once you've done one of this kind of tests, you know what to look for.

that's the one I did originally.... Just re-did it got 128, slight drop I don't get why.... I remembered a good 75% of the answers I gave, and figured out one I missed last time including #39 and I did the whole thing in like 7 minutes.

I don't wanna know. :D

I'm normal

Woot! 100, even without the prior knowledge you guys have, I still got a 100.

140 using SD of 16

If youre interested in a more accurate answer do a real life test with pen and paper. Scored 155 aged 12 in a real life test. Took another real life test out of curiosity when i was about 22, only scored 148. Online tests have come anywhere from 130-170 for me. I could believe 130 as I am getting older all the time, but to rise to 170 compared to my 12yo peak learning mental age? I dont think so, so try a real one if you want to know a realistic answer. Did the blue test pretty quickly got the usual rough score i always get.
But then i went back and clicked totaly random answers and submitted it all in about 10 seconds and scored 65....not bad for 40 light speed mouse clicks.
If you really want to find out you should be in an exam room with a guy stnading over you with a stop watch and electrodes in your brain to messure just how clever you are. IQ is just the best system for messuring intelect that humans have devised so far, and flawed in almost every way. When i think of IQ it is like a computer's motherboard. It does not make you funny, or witty, or creative or anything usefull at all, the only thing it might define is how fast your mind works.
-
119 here. I believe it, I usually peg myself as being slightly smarter than average, so it isn't out of realm of what I'd expect.
-
Damn 155 at age 12, thats pretty damn good mechanic. :aok
-
well i only scored 136 (on the lowest version of scoring methods - 148 on the highest) in this test so by age 40 I should be semi brain damaged.
The thing is this test was easy, i know i got every question right. So does it come down to speed? If so it means i could do another test tomorrow and finish 5 mins quicker, thus bumping my IQ up to 140? i dont get how this online test works at all because i went back and did the same test for a 3rd time, same questions, i'm sure i got them all right and i finished it in under 3 minutes, gave me 136 again.
Oh im curious, did any work out the last one with the rubix cube? It was all about the right colours being in the correct rows, nothing to do with colours moving in patterns or anything, just make sure the rows (IE yellow, red, purple was one row) are all in the right order somewhere in there.
-
So if one of us gets a higher score does that make them a score potato? :rofl potato :rofl
-
139.
As usual. At least I know I'm not getting more stupid in my old age.
-
Isn't the proof of IQ really of those who won't provide personal information to an unknown source on the internet? If you choose not to, you are smart.
-
The last rubiks cube one, the colors in each row rotate, and then the rows shift up or down. There's a bit more to it but that's what to look for. You'll notice that the same three colors are always in the same row together...
-
I've always come in at 134 to 137 (most recently at 23) since I was 13.
I'm surprised it didn't get lower due to rampant substance abuse as a teenager, but who knows.. maybe my IQ would've been 150+ today ;]
Online IQ tests have been known to pad your score so that you'll pay for whichever services they offer (useless certificates and whatnot). In any case they tend to be inaccurate.
Of course this isn't a definitive measurement of intelligence... people with high IQ tend to have a higher rate of depression due to getting understimulated. This is why I cagefight, get some braincells knocked out and look forward to a smooth and ignorant bliss!

That was actually one of the easier ones if you ask me, they change the answer every time you take the test, so you can't say the answer was G, or B. But I believe the answer was the cube that had:
1st row, Blue, Aqua, Green
2nd row, Yellow, Purple, Red
3rd row, Black, Gray, White

I got a 119. I couldn't sit through that thing & think for the last 10 though. I just clicked whatever the bottom right answer was for each one of those. That test was too dang long for my attention span I guess.

Yeah me too I was tired and drunk and got bored to **** clicking the images so I just clicked the rest randomly. Gave 100 pts.

Was too lazy, but took half of it and fast forwarded through the rest.
So, 98 it was. That would make 196 :t

I didn't take this one because I have been drinking at this time, but I took a pencil and paper one when I was younger and scored a 128 with a +/- 4 error. Seriously though, most of us are going to be pretty dang smart compared to the general populous. The fact that we are geeks is a general tell to that end. score potatos! :D :salute

When I was about 13 yrs old I tested 146 at a professional facility. It would have been a bit higher but I didn't know where bacon came from... It's not very healthy and we didn't have much money for luxuries, so where bacon came from simply never came up in my early life.
A couple of years earlier I had tested at 143, so I figure the results are fairly consistent.
-
Finished a couple of others before, doing 138 and 129. Those were a different type, so much emphasis was on the correct understanding of English, which is not my first language, so I guess I did ok ;)
-
I caved in... 150. I took one of these tests when I was 16 and scored 139, so I think these online tests are soft.

I think you're right. 150 and up is considered genius. Sorry, but I've seen some of your posts :D
j/k Gav, good score :aok

Taken a few of those and they all give different scores.

IMO this is the smartest quote in the thread, I totaly agree Rumble. Intelligence may give us longer and safer life, but only occasionally does a strong mind make a possitive difference. Millions of people will be wasted on the human race. I just hope the people at the finish line are a good representation of what I stood for. Official historians as well as close nit social communities will remember the Isaac Newtons and the Osama Bin Ladens equally in the year 4009. Both highly intelligent people. What a difference circumstance makes.

Did someone say my name?

I couldnt figure out how to have it score me. How am I doin so far?

j/k Gav, good score :aok
:lol I'm used to it. When I graduated I got a fancy award for academic achievement, and my step-father had the nerve to say "I know you're not a genius, so that means you must have worked hard. Good job."
-
lol, college has made me dumb. last time I took one I got 127, haha I'm down to 116. Ohh wells, that makes me the only person in the honors program at school not qualified to be in Mensa lol.
-
I started the test, but then my “Triple A Double D” (Advancing Age Attention Deficit Disorder) kicked in… I could ace this thing if I could just stay focu…. (Hey, what does this “post’ button do???? [[click]]

haha goaly!
