I haven't trapped any beaver for the last couple winters, but before that I used to catch a handful each season.

My wife actually thought it was kind of funny when people would call and ask for me, and she could tell them "He's out in the garage messing around with a beaver" or "He's busy scraping the nasty stuff off of a beaver" (she was referring to the skinning and fleshing process).  After I fleshed them I had to tack them out on a sheet of plywood or a metal hoop to dry, so she also thought it was fun to tell people I went out to the garage to stretch beavers!

On a side note- BBQ sandwiches with beaver meat (or even muskrat, for that matter) ain't bad at all!  Actually, if I substituted the beaver for the beef, and didn't tell you, you'd never even notice it...

Man I loved trapping!  I basically quit when I started falconry, since they both happen at the same time of year and the birds take up all my time now...

Trash.

Why, because you have your head so wrapped up with turtles and the perfection that you can bring to the species?

When I lived in Vermont, we used to have a terrible time with beavers damming up streams and creating ponds that caused serious issues with property down stream.  So, I spent an awful lot of time with a rifle nailing their little carcasses through the head every chance I had on the weekends.  The other choice was to face lawsuits brought on by limpdick scientists like yourself, encouraging homeowners downstream to sue us for the eventual overflow and tremendous rush of water that was not normal to the area.  They (the homeowners) were egged on by crackpot scientists like yourself that have not a remote clue in how the real world works.

Go stick your head under a turtles butt, and I really hope you get an air embolism.

You really are an interesting person. Interesting, but sad.  You've never met me. Never seen my work.  Don't know what I currently work with.  Yet you wish me dead, from interactions on a BBS like this.  Really sad.

My work with sea turtles was used as keynotes in various cancer studies.  I did the work for our species, not theirs. It involved tumor development and blood delivery to established tumors.

I could only hope someday to pursue a goal as worthy as your beaver killing.   :frown:

See ya in a week or two.

Your "positive achievements in life" are overshadowed by your arrogance.    I'd take 10 Derek's before an arrogant person.

Oh I'm sorry, did you PM him?   If not, my statement still stands.   Your pretentiousness may work with some, but not with most people.

Again, deciding you know a person, from statements on a bulletin board, is insane.  I simply regarded his statement as "trash".  A few others on this thread are the same way. If you have an issue with that in particular, take it up with the mods.

It is easy to tell, who here doesn't have daughters to raise.
