she has a brazilian flag on her breast and earrings, although it's a nice picture, she is wearing green for reasons other than st. pattys day, maybe Carnival?

She's wearing green because it's on the brazilian flag.

Doesn't matter, lots of Brazilians in Ireland these days. They'll be marching in the parades too. There is nothing so surprising as driving into an otherwise dull Irish town and seeing a couple of exotic Brazilian girls strolling down the street giving it all with that 'samba' walk they do.(http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/264/1325/320/quaddancegirls.jpg)

Happy St. Pat's Day!

A fire company rushed to the scene of a pub on fire and on entering the burning building, found a lone Irishman sitting at the bar.

The first fireman through the door rushed up to the man and asked, "Sir, are you alright?  What happened here?"

The Irishman replied, "I am not certain.  It was on fire when I got here."

Gotta remember. St Paddys day is one of the most inclusive if not THE most inclusive holidays.

On saint Paddies day
EVERYONE is Irish.

And to you all I wish an Irish blessing

(http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s72/nikkipadron/IrishBlessing.jpg)

And let us all have one or three in memory od Paddy Murphy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcy4OpPa5PU

For those that dont know the words

Oh, the night that Paddy Murphy died is a night I'll never forget,
Some of the boys got loaded drunk and they ain't got sober yet;
As long as a bottle was passed around every man was feelin' gay,
O'Leary came with the bagpipes some music for to play.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Mrs. Murphy sat in the corner, pourin' out her grief,
When Kelly and his friends, came roaring down the street;
They crept into an empty room and a bottle of whiskey stole,
They placed the bottle on the corpse to keep the liquor cold.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

At three o'clock in the morning, after emptying the jug,
Doyle rose up the coffin lid to see poor Paddy's mug;
He stopped the clock so Mrs. Murphy couldn't tell the time,
And at a quarter after three, they argued it was nine..

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

And everyone got merry, they didn't care for prayer,
Mrs. Murphy said she'd wait till all the gang were there;
Of all the sights I've ever seen that made me shiver with fear,
They took the ice right off the corpse and placed it on the beer.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Now everything was doin' fine, there was no ill at all,
Till Finnegan told Callaghan, "You've got an awful gall."
I thought that that might start a row, and sure enough it did,
For Callaghan had carved his name upon the coffin lid.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Then the fight got fierce and strong, everyone was in,
Someone knocked the whiskers off poor old Darby Flynn;
And Dirty Andy Burke was there, now whadda ya think he done?
He placed the corpse right on its head, in the corner just for fun.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Someone hollered for the cops; they busted down the door,
They jumped upon ol' Paddy's back and they laid him on the floor;
They knocked him twice behind the ears and they knocked him on the head,
When they jumped up from his back, sure they found out he was dead.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Mrs. Murphy started in, battled with them cops,
She chased 'em, every one of them; she chased 'em several blocks;
A lovely time was had by all, eighteen in court were tried,
For having caused a riot on the night Pat Murphy died.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

At eight o'clock in the morning, the procession left the house,
And everyone but poor ol' Mrs. Murphy was out soused;
They stopped on the way to the churchyard at the old Red Door Saloon,
They staggered in at nine o'clock and didn't come out till noon.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Someone asked ol' Finnegan if anyone had died,
"Lou," says he, "I'm not quite sure, I just came for the ride."
They started out for the graveyard, all holy and sublime,
But found out when they got there, they'd left the corpse behind.

And that's how they showed their respect for Paddy Murphy,
That's how they showed their honour and their pride;
They said it was a sin and a shame and they winked at one another,
Now every drink in the wakehouse went, the night Pat Murphy died.

Oh, the night that Paddy Murphy died is a night I'll never forget,
Some of the boys got loaded drunk and they ain't got sober yet;
As long as a bottle was passed around every man was feelin' gay,
O'Leary came with the bagpipes some music for to play.

That's because they ain't. That's what's crazy about that particular town in County Galway. But you can just see an Irish redhead to the right of picture.

Anybody can celebrate St Patricks day, it's the law! The Dublin parade had all the usual American high school marching bands, people from Bulgaria, Spain, Africa etc etc. Even a few Irish. Then they all get drunk, and get stuck into the traditional Paddy's day riot in the streets of Dublin, man you should see what those US high school kids get up to when
overseas......sheesh!;)

I'm still sober believe it or not, a situation I intend to remedy soon. But first I'm off to watch the special episode of the Simpsons where they visit Ireland and find the pubs empty and everyone's turned hard working and sober. :O It hasn't aired in the USA yet. You guys won't see it until next week.

Flogging Molly - Devil's Dance Floor

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSwaVvF7rdU

I went and saw Flogging Molly last night in Chicago at the House of Blues, what a great freaking show. Dave Kings voice was roached but he still sounded pretty good. When you heard him talk it was amazing he could sing at all. He told a really funny story about the St. Paddys day parade in Beggers Bush. He said it consisted of an old guy with his Irish Wolfhound, a donkey and an Irish Air Force flyby with all three of there planes :rofl

I tried taking a video on my phone during "Rebels of the Sacred Heart" but the pit just exploded and I couldnt hold my phone still. This one is much better, from Whiskey on a Sunday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SEwG0hygeo

Never heard of Flogging Molly but sounds good. As for the Irish Air Force, no such thing. But the Irish Air Corps has six planes and if the Luxemburg air force comes sniffing around, they are dead.

I think I had a good St. Pattys day... can't really recall.
Nothing better than watching a group of college students try to do the jig to Flogging Molly.
 :rock to all my other Irish friends.

The corned beef and cabbage was the best I have ever had in my whole life!

It was juicy & tender, and filled the whole house with an AWESOME smell for 5 hours!!

Anyone who wants the recipe feel free to PM me.
