This goes to all squadrons that can put up 6 or more guys on a pre-arranged basis for squad vs squad matches of which there are many.
Plane matchups can be selected before hand, historical or same types. It is best of 5 rounds wins and a ladder format. The full rules of the setup can be found here: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,254157.0.html
The current league members and standings are as follows
The Few (3-0)
332nd Flying Mongrels (2-1)
JG11 (1-0)
71 Squadron (0-1)
(+) Precision (0-1)
VF-31 Tomcatters (0-1)
The Haze 100th FBG (0-1)
The Flying Circus (0-1)
TAC Drivers (0-0)
Army of Muppets (0-0)
The league is not about self promotion or bragging rights, it is about getting your squadron together and having fun controlled fights with like minded people. With the amount of squadrons in Aces High i've always been shocked at the lack of squadron vs events, this is the perfect setup to get these fights happening everyweek and not monthly/fortnightly as is currently. To make it work we need more participation from the Aces High squadrons to prevent it going stale.
People like; WoT, Jokers, POTW, the blind bats, polish dudes, claim jumpers, bops, 367th, AK's, unforgiven, swampdragons, rolling thunder etc etc,
Again this is not about proving who is best but any of the above can field 6+ guys for an hour or so of fun fights. This event can also help bring the community closer together and away from the whole MA gangbang, horde/whinefest. ;)
Please PM daddog or Trotter for access to the private dueling club forum with 3 named contacts if interested.

Its fun, and you learn ACM if your lucky.... so please come join the fun

I'd also add the finns to the list of people I'd like to see in the league.
Imagine finns in 109's vs the few in spits...
Anyway I think Bruv touched on it all. Looking forward to seeing some new squads join in the fun.

I'll have a shot at persuading the Fins at the meet next week :devil
After, of course, they've killed me a few times in the virtual :D (gotta admit, win or lose, I really enjoy fighting against them, and with them for that matter)
Wurzel
Oh, yeah, JOIN THE SQUAD DUELING LEAGUE ya buggers,
:D

If your squad doesn't have enough people to constantly sustain their #s, can you sign up for a squadron that's already playing if it's okay with that squadron?

I have no idea what the rules are, but I don't see why not, personally.
Jump in, chaps - especially those squads who are more 'teamwork-oriented.'
Multi-plane matches are 10% individual talent and 90% cooperation. :aok

SDL rocks! I love AH2 events! :aok

Dream teams or "ringers" are frowned upon. The squad aspect is that you will end up knowing who and what to expect after playing certain squads, some relaxed squads in the league may be OK with someone like yourself flying in a match, if it be known prior to the engagement.

Come join the loveparade! :aok

Because your flying in groups of 6 on 6 up to 10 vs 10 or more it has a totally different feel than most flying. Not at all like a 1 on 1 match, this one is all about teamwork, wingman tactics, and having fun. The good sticks die just as easily as the newer guys. I started out flying on the Warbirds dueling ladder long long ago, and burned out on 1 vs 1 duels. But I flew this 2 weeks ago vs the Precision squad and had an awesome time.
Its not about ego's or who lands the most kills, its all about staying alive, and working together.
Its a great way to meet some honorable foes, fly some new Aircraft, and work on teamwork and group tactics.

Our friendly buddy buddy man hug challenge to Wings of Terror still stands.

I only have a total of five in my Squad. But, I wish you all well and hopefully a lot of fun filled nights. :rock
-
I'll throw the idea aroun with the Jokers, I'm sure we could field enough interested people. This sounds like a great idea- maybe I should read the forums more!
-
I myself dont know if I have the time to commit to it but will inform 367th
-
please do attila, DH, both of your squads will do very well in the event IMO,
It needs a minimum of 2 matches every 6 months, which cannot be difficult to organise for even the most laid back, lazy squadron CO. ;)

Then why the standings? :huh I will get some Unforgiven together

the standings are just for the records. to keep a track of who has fought who and to help people decide who they wish to challenge,
for example say in the long term we get a broad picture on the average skill level of each squad, you would be expected to either challenge the squadron one place above yourself or one in a similair spot to yourself to keep a fair balance. The Few wouldn't be forever challenging the team at the bottom of the ladder to increase our win count,
you see where I'm coming from?
-
suuuure.....you can tell that to someone else
-
havent got any time for people who want to assume the worst banshee,
I'm here trying to sell something that daddog, hammer and trotter have setup for the benefit of all AH squads, If you can't participate for whatever reason i'll appreciate you staying out of the thread.
hows that saying go ? "if you haven't got anything nice to say , then don't say it"
-
If my squad was actually large enough to participate we would. But here within the next month there will probably be a thread about Squad A blah blah blah no fair Squad B lost get over it blah blah blah rants. Bet my bottom dollar on it
-
if you read the SDL rules that kind of behaviour will get sorted pretty quickly.
The only squadron you have to worry about is your own.

And, again, not to be rude or anything, but have you ever seen a perfect community where a rule is NOT broken?
The only squadron you have to worry about is your own.
No, I don't. Although I would field my 5 guys against 6 of some of the others.... :t

To those who want grief or complaining this league is not for you . It is however fun and a very different kind of air combat in the game. Teamwork and meeting other squads is really the benefit here and the rules are straight forward and simple . Try this and you'll be amazed at how you'll like it.
Nutte :salute
