Title: Adjustible GV Speed
Post by: P1Tiger on March 23, 2009, 12:13:47 AM
Seems easy enough to happen, when your trying to run a nice smooth mission, or just simply trying to stay grouped up with other people when your in a faster tank

Shift to a lower gear.  Pull back on the stick a bit.  Do you need to run pedal-to-the-metal in top gear if you want to stay grouped so bad?

wrongway

that was mainly for use t34, m3, sdk drivers, its very annoying, because that one gear, is still faster than other tanks, and if you shift lower, they leave you behind

I believe what he's asking for is a .speed command for GV's. Still, it's not all that hard to just tell the Russians to slow the Hell down.

move the stick and use it as throttle.... just like flying an aircraft you need to fly formation

Isn't he talking about the "auto accelerate" feature?  Even if you have the stick centered, ie no throttle, GVs will slowly accelerate to the max speed for any particular gear if they are moving at all.  To maintain a constant speed below max, in any gear, you actually have to pull back on the stick (brakes).  This "feature" was added so you could cruise in a GV without having to have the stick pushed full forward.  I dislike it intensely because if you do not come to a absolute complete stop in a tank (or shift into N) the thing will start accelerating slowly away to top speed, destroying your ability to fire accurately (ie bouncing up and down).
