Download the soundpack.  Extract it to a folder named sounds.  Go to your Aceshigh folder and look for the sounds folder there.  Rename it to soundsb or whatever as long as its different from sounds.  Then take the sounds folder u created from the soundpack and put it in the Aceshigh folder.

It won`t let me rename sounds. Every time I try it says"cannot rename sounds:access is denied, make sure the disks is not full or write protected and that the file is currently in use"

Go to Page 10 of my soundpack thread.  Halfway down there is an installation how-to with pics.  Make sure you are doing it just like that.  You're not dropping the new sounds folder(soundpack) inside your default sounds folder are you?  You replace the old sounds folder with the new one.

i have XP.  I just uninstalled the game reloaded it and when i checked its folder there were no sounds file at all. So I copied the unzipped version of mitsu and put it in. It shows that it`s there,I can tell because it shows several check6 calls but none of them r what I hear in the game. I`m getting really frustrated

Do not drop your soundpack into the Sounds folder.  Replace it with the new Sounds folder(soundpack).  Follow the link from my thread that Fugitive posted.

It won`t let me rename sounds. Every time I try it says"cannot rename sounds:access is denied, make sure the disks is not full or write protected and that the file is currently in use"

if you have any media player open it wont let you rename it
if its a fresh install as u stated just right click and create a new folder named sounds
then unzip files or copy and paste each planes folder in it

It's gotta be something easy being missed.  Anyway you could post screenies of inside your AHII folder and your Sounds folder so we can take a look?

Hit your "print screen" key, then open up MS Paint and hit Ctrl+V, then save the file.

Your file directory should look like this, folder within folder.

I downloaded my pack off the host.  After I unzipped it I had a folder called Sounds.  I opened it and there was another folder called Sounds, which contains all the .wavs.  It is this folder INSIDE the first folder that you want to copy & paste.  Sorry if that first folder is what has thrown you off.  I uploaded it, but my host is the one that zipped it up.  So, take that second Sounds folder out of the first one, and make that your Sounds folder in your AHII folder.  The only folder you want is the one that has the .wavs directly, not the one that it has been placed inside.  You'll know you have the right one if when you open your Sounds folder in AHII, you see the .wavs, not another Sounds folder inside.  Confused? :lol

I tried to follow along with that but i don`t see any type of 2nd file. When I go into my ah sounds folder and hold my mouse over the sounds folder it shows that they are .wav files.Could you maybe take screen shots of each step you do,I tried to figure out how to take shots of mine, but I don`t really know what I am doing. Thanks ,Gary a.k.a. sirVLAD

Thats the order that the sounds are listed in from top to bottom. What ya think?
Title: Re: sound packs

That Sounds folder that is shown beside the cleaned.txt file is the sound pack.  It should not be inside another Sounds folder.  Going by your pictures, if you open your Sounds folder, there is another Sounds folder and the cleaned.txt.  Take that one that is inside out(the one that actually contains the .wavs) and make it the ONLY Sounds folder in your AHII folder.  Don't have one Sounds folder inside another.

OK I deleted the sound file next to the cleaned 1 and it still has the same sounds. This is truly driving me insane...lol.Just the other day a tank was near by me.couldn`t tell what type, well ofcourse it was a tiger, sure wish i had that whistle sound of the tread i`m so use to hearing.I`m thinking about calling geek squad and have them come by.Probably cost me like a 100 bucks but I don`t know what else to do.

The Soundsfolder you deleted was the one you needed.  That is the folder you need as your Sounds folder in AH.  When you open it up, you would see all the .wavs.

If you start from the beginning.

Follow this exactly.

You downloaded and unzipped the sounds to your desktop.

You'll have a folder named sounds on your desktop, so  open that folder, and inside is another folder called "sounds"

Right click on that folder, and click "cut"

Open -Program files - HTC - Aces High II-

Right click on an empty spot in that folder, anywhere where it is white, and click "paste"

-The sounds will now work in game.

Go back to the desktop and delete the now empty sounds folder.
