Hmm, how could anyone fly in prone? Wouldn't you get a neck ache after a while?

I think these were also flown by nazis, not regular luftwaffe....

The U.S. tested the theory of flying prone after the war. Bud Anderson was the pilot for some of the tests. He basically found the experience rather uncomfortable. When they found it impossible to for the pilot to keep his head up during any turns because of the G forces they tried a counter weight system hooked up to the poor guys helmet.
