Here are a few screen shots of CPU-Z, 3DMark06 and the temps. Notice the temps did not go over the mid 50's perfectly acceptable under full load. I really think I can get this to 4.2 or 4.4 on air. Its the wife and kids surf the net box LOL

I had my E8500 up to 4.0 for 6 months. However my lack of understanding of Ram timings caused the game to crash. I backed it down to 3.5 ghz. Then tested it. After that no more crashing.

I should have moved the the Thermals... This box scored about 200 less then the i7 920 running a 260.... Anyone can build a machine, not everyone can dial and tune one in.

what's the difference between your board and the one I got a GA-EP45-UD3P?
Can I overclock my E8400 like you did?
I tried the easy tune 6 that came with it but just bumping it up to the first OC level in that app, cause my computer not to boot.
I have 4GB of this ram:

First difference is the DDR3 over the DDR2.... also you have to know what voltages makes a system stable and still overclocked. There are about 12 different voltage settings. On that board using DDR2 you should be able to get to 3.6 to 3.8 stable with a FSB around 1500 to 1600. This is also dependant on your PSU and its sustained ratings. I only use OCZ memory for my builds since I know it is stable at the speeds I desire without having to over-volt the memory. On your board you may want to look at these mem modules (OCZ2RPR11504GK Reaper 1150 Frequency 5-5-5-18) or (OCZ2P11004GK Platinum 1100 Fre 5-5-5-18) or (OCZ2P10664GK Platinum 1066 Fre 5-5-5-18) in order of preference.
I had stated in a few other posts, anyone can build a system, not to many know how to tune them in for max performance and stability. Some are successful at an overclock but the system is almost always running hotter then it should with voltages that are not needed. Some just up the vCore, NB and SB voltages and let her rip, not the proper way to do it. That's why I charge a build fee rather then marking up the parts. You get parts at cost and pay me for my expertise in the tuning and actual build.

I can not say if it will or will not cause BSOD. Your PSU is fine. Yes bumping the FSB will in turn drag the CPU frequency up, but you need to have voltages set properly to achieve a stable OC.

while the OC 8400 is rather nice .. from what i could see its basically what the i7 920 would be without OCing it and of course its doesnt even touch the fastest of 35806 held by a phenom II 940

The Phenom was an ENGINEERING SAMPLE using Liquid Nitrogen for cooling.
Yes the score is OCed to a stock i7 920 using a GTX260, that rig costing probably $600 to $800 more at least plus the LN pots and is not a 24/7 rig. I have yet to see a benchmark from CPU-Z, 3DMark06, Vantage etc etc , or any other thing you have done personally that is over stock settings in these forums other then statements.
Heck I have a 28803 score on 3DMark06 from a rig I built for customer with an i7 920. He is even an Aces High player, here is a link to the score http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=682137 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=682137)
EDIT: If you compare my score with the highest in that category, My build and OC crushed the highest system in CPU Score mine 45584 compared to a i7 965's OC CPU score of 31669. IN addition theirs was a QUAD SLI 295s. If my client would have had an extra 1800 additional for a quad 295 setup... I have no doubt his rig would hold the record
