I don't know who else out there also has a bit of experience with aerobatic planes but if you have you may also consider this a flight modelling issue for Aces High in 1.04.
I have yet to fly a warbird (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) but those that have flown texans say this effect is also present at extreme low speeds
I used to fly a pitts S2c quite a bit and noticed that when ever I did a pure vertical climb all the way to a stall with full power the thing would sit their at the top and just torque roll like a hellicopter without a tail rotor once the relative wind moving over the wings became too weak to counteract the gyroscopic action of the propeller. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
anyways I believe that AH has modelled most prop effects quite well except for the gyroscopic effect at low speeds which is currently so weak that it isn't even noticeable.
it used to be there in previous versions but now its gone.

Your torque roll effect while vertical must have taken a vacation at the same place the engine torque did. I actually MISS fighting that Bf-109's torque on takeoff. I MISS the hard snap rolls the 190 used to give me for doing something stupid. The torque and spin models are fudged [see my thread]. Zeke won't spin at all, 109s are too easy to get out of a spin.
I remember doing vertical tail slides in BETA and loving the torque effect. I'd sit and let that P-51 just spin round and round while sliding backwards. Was damn fun. Now.....well, no sense teling you something you already know. I'd love to get the torque cranked back up to BETA standards. The new guys can use Auto-takeoff and leave fighting the beasts to us pros.
In short? I want to have an F4U jerk hard left when I stomp the gas. Right now, no trim or rudder input required to get HALF the planes we got up.
Oops, BTW the 109 F4 and G2 are cranking too many RPMs. 2,800 RPMs wasn't reached until the indroduction of the DB-605 and the 109G6.

Sure was fun with G-10 on take off in early beta.

109G2 featured a DB605 engine.

Citabria, visit this link. Its where I got to fly the AT-6 down in Kissimmee, FL.
Relatively cheap, and the most fun I have ever had (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Cit are you talking about the torque reaction from the blades fighting against the air or the gyroscopic effect caused by the angular momentum vector of the rotating parts in the engine/gearbox/prop system?
-
Is gyro when you input pitch and get an uncommanded yaw response too?
Is torque roll when you need to input aileron to correct uncommanded roll in a 90º climb with high power?
If yes, I have noticed both effects are present in AH 1.04... if they are correct in magnitude is another thing I guess.
-
Yes Juzz that's what I mean. The gyroscopic effect acts on the yaw and pitch axes, and is proportional to RPM. The torque reaction acts about the roll axis and is proportional to engine torque.

Well I can say that since 1.04 was released I have done no well executed hammerheads again...dunno why but the thing is that I always mess it on the top...
But this thread is about the FM, not about my incompetence as a pilot (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Ram, check out our 2 vs 2 duel at the con in the finals, look at the P38L duel and FW190 duels below (links), you'll see hammar heads taking place all over the sky (Still can't believe how good of a shot Drex is at D1.0 !, you'll notice that he shot my left engine out at the top of the hammar head)

I dont say they can't be done , I say that I can't do them any more (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
But my flying sux since new FM release so I have to relearn a lot of things (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
