Title: Unsportsman like conduct
Post by: WGUtah on March 29, 2009, 07:15:45 PM
On Sunday afternoon, I was flying with my squad members (who will all verify my complaint) when someone in a spit 16, made an intentional course correction to ram my pony.

On 200 I typed to the guy that it was a very un-sportsman ("low life") thing to do.  The last few words were something to the effect; your ramming was fu  the rest of the word was "FUNNY" but didn't fit.  I’m sorry if he thought it was something else but, muting someone for an hour on “fu” isn't even appropriate because it could mean a lot of things.  Get it Hi Tec, a vulgarity is a vulgarity, I get it and I support trying to keep the chat clean!  But, if it is not a blatant vulgarity then blocking someone is just wrong.

With all the filthy mouth that gets passed over on, I get muted for fu which was really funny.

Yeah, muting somebody for a sentence that the filter already deletes is fascist.

As for the 'intentional ram', the gun sight is in front of the nose.  Think about that one.

I'm surprised most of you guys don't know that you can call Skuzzy, have a chat with him, and he'll consider unmuting you, as long as you don't have a history..

He'll cut you loose if you're honest about how you meant to say fun or whatever instead of what the guy thought you said...

And be advised, mass-reporting will get you busted too....Seen this happen a couple times already to a few guys who thought it was
funny to mass report someone as soon as they signed on....  I don't think I saw those guys in the text buffer for a couple weeks...Never heard them either... :lol

You'd do good by yourself to find out how the whole muted thing works....  If enough people report you, you get muted for 10 minutes...  The second time, it's 8 days I think..
It's automatic....  Lots of people take advantage of this...  Be prepared because during the upcoming summer months in which squeakers are most active, mass-reporting
goes way up.. :furious

Do we really need this channel?

Don't tune it then.  Nobody at HiTech is MAKING anybody tune 200.

To the O.P. I don't think you could fault a moderator for seeing "Nice Ram FU" and not thinking you were using masked profanity.

When you hit Enter after seeing "fu" at the end of the line, you HAD to have known what it looked like.

Probably if you had typed "funny" immediately after you wouldn't have been muted, as it would have shown what you intended to type.

Wow! If I had know I was taking a broom stick to a hornet nest I would have just shut up.  The number one thing I learned from all of your response is to shut 200 OFF!

the only unsporting conduct i've seen was this one time when i was new,

I Was chasing a CON on the deck and I get a couple of check 6's from a friendly called "manetmp",   i break off and look for enemy cons and there were none.  This player then stole my kill.   :cry

i was in my spitty on the con's six and she/he was in a 109k4 diving in on him from behind.

no other cons that i could see.  maybe a misunderstanding,  maybe unsporting conduct.   ;)

I find it ironic that one of the members of the DA's resident 'tard squadrons is whining about someone else's unsportsman like conduct.  I guess he just doesn't like colliding while he's picking players that are furballing someone else.

Yep, it lubricates one's tongue quite well. But the mute came from the Mega-thingy whose name I don't dare to type here in fear for getting silenced.

You have a point there! I have always wondered how some words can be "dirty", even if misspelled. Is it a form of American hypocrisy? I remember that at a time referring to the renowned Kanttori would cause our   bulletin board of that time change it to "Thingy-ori"... And how about the name Tweety calls Sylvester? Or the common nickname for Richard?

Let's just turn this thing upside down, won't we! Call someone 'richardhead', or 'Oedipus', or...

Again, I think you knuckleheads (and I say that endearingly) aren't getting it...at all.  Do you all only think ONE step ahead?
It's ruining the game, not because a person directly tunes the channel, but because they INDIRECTLY tune it by listening to EVERYONE around them.

Then people complain, they take offense, they change game style because of it, and some quit because they are sick of dealing with the childishness.

Get this through your thick skull.  If you don't like 200, don't tune to it.  But do not demand that everyone else be denied cross-country communications just because you don't like it.
