Was wondering if any of u code/program guys could develop a fuel range calculator. What I mean is, U select a plane from a drop down box, select amount of fuel "ie 25,50,75,or 100% and/or DT's", and then select altitude. The calculator then would give u the amount of flight time for that givin alt. May even have to add a selection for what engine setting u at, like max cruise, military, ex..
Would be a great tool for CIC duty in FSO instead of having to test each plane out to see @ what ever alt. Obviosly the results would be approx because of climbout to that alt but it would at least give u a good enough approximation.

Squad C/Os would like it to for unfamiliar rides. Would really spare fuel weight from grabbing DTs you don't actually need.

In WWII it was does with pan and paper.
And the E6B does half oh what your asking. When I need to test something, I go offline in to the training map (don't remember what it's called). Spawn at what ever altitude I need to test, level out, and check my E6B.

U are correct but when u have 7 planes to check and little time, the calculator would be nice to have. Took me 2+ hrs to check 7 planes out lastnight to figure out what planes to use and configuration for the upcoming FSO. That includes 2 bombers.

Scroll down and you'll see a download for FS200 fuel calculator. While they say its for M-soft FS, they also say it could be used for any sim.

I started to put this together once and stopped for no real reason. I believe the first step would be to create typical profiles for each aircraft. For example, a B-25C could use takeoff, 5 minute formup, mil power climb to critical altitude, then outbound to a target at a some speed short of full power that allows you to maintain formation. Figure out combat radius with fuel burns of 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 and then also max range within 60 minutes. For B-17s, perhaps choose 25,000 feet and a medium altitude. For fighters, air-to-air configurations at medium and high altitudes, and air-to-ground at medium altitudes with the different bomb loads available.
Easyscore had a table that was in the works when we used to run the Close Escort event, but it was incomplete. He was setting it up for CM planning purposes, so really, a resource such as the one you're describing Dogg would benefit both the players and the CMs.

i made a chart for my squad of fuel durations that all fits on a 1 page pdf... its not perfectly exact because i just did full mil power at 100% fuel at sealevel, checked e6b to see time remaining. put that in a column, then added all external fuels, and have that in a column...... didn't even bother with the jets :)
I find it close enough for what we use it for, fso's, duels, etc. etc. just quick calculator work needed for differnt fuel burns.

I did this offline by trial and error for the SEC BoB event just for Spit and Hurri Is, to determine endurance/alt/climb settings. it took sooo long, I wont be doing it again :(
