Nothing more annoying than moving to a CV and hearing the most alarming explosions that could possibly come out of your speakers. The windows shake, the dog wakes up, the neighbors call the cops. It seems to be two times as loud in the tower than on the runway and ten times as loud as any other sound in the game at the default sound levels.
Sure you can try to find the right custom sound explosion to turn down, but I think the default sound is a wee bit excessive. :)

This has been asked for several times over the years.
I wonder why HTC has not mad ship gun sounds something you can adjust.
I have blown at least 6 sets of headphones because of this very thing.

Are you sure it's not mapped? My 8 incher's sound like mice.

Yeah you can turn it down(forgot what its name is, some sort of explosion) but the new computers, new players, reinstalled game...have to deal with this. Annoying is an understatement and like Wmlute said, it has even broke his sound equipment.

It's a fine volume for me.

I just looked again for the sound setting.
I went through the list and tried anything that looked like it would be it.
Could somebody tell me exactly what sound I can turn down?
(I still don't think there is one...)

Explode1

Explode1
Explode1 (Small explosions) does not adjust the the 8" guns sound when they fire.
-
I know its "realistic", but yeah the 8" through a headset are damage-your-hearing loud. short of editing the sound files and atten them by 50% I havent found a way of making them quieter
-
the only way I have found to adjust this sound is to turn everything down and then you can't hear vox. I see no reason not to fix this given that all other sounds are adjustable and for those using head phone this can be a health issue.

fixed made my own sound
here is how it sounds

Into one of the many sounds packs u can find what u want.

Go into the AH file and edit the wave file using your windows sound recorder .
If you have problems doing it that way copy the original wave file to your desktop and adjust the volume, save it and replace the original in the AH program file.
(you may have to rename the file from sound.wav to sound1.wav after you move it to the desktop)
after editing sound1.wav copy and paste it back in AH folder, delete the sound.wav file and the rename sound1.wav back to sound.wav . I don't recall if you can do it directly in the AH without changing the file name but I think you can.)

What Tec said. This hasn't broken any of my equipment, but if it has (regardless of how many), this seems like it's a simple fix.
