I know you are busy with navy and bug hunting and all but could you consider adding few new bomb loadouts for Fw 190's?
It brings tears to my eyes to look all those countless rocket and bomb and droptank options in US (and other) planes.
Now we (The Lufwaffe) don't have any effective means to combat tanks after the Mk 108 effectiveness was ficed to correct level. Our planes carry only one sad bomb and two sad rockets at maximum.
Yet our (The Luftwaffe) planes were able to carry wide range of bombs and rockets and droptanks.
So we (The Lufwaffe) ask You kindly to give us few usefull loadout options. Dare I suggest few:
- 4 X 50 Kg (100 lbs) bombs on Fw 190A-5 and A-8 centerline hardpoint
- 2 X 2 X 50 Kg (100 lbs) bombs on Fw 190A-5 and A-8 wing hardpoints
- 2 X 250 kg (500 lbs) bombs on Fw 190A-5 and A-8 wing hardpoints
- 2 X 300 l (80 gallon) DT's on Fw 190A-5 and A-8 wing hardpoints
I would think that many Lufwaffe pilots would be very gratefull to you.

Basically, let us turn our A-5 and A-8 into G-3 and F-8.
-
Hear Hear! I too drop to 1 knee..."pleeeeeeease!!!!"
-
Fw 190F-8 has all the G options too. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
No Juzz - on the F-8 I saw (with my own eyes) there was no provision for carrying 1 x 250 kg or 1 x 300 litre fuel tank on each wing, like most of the G series.
-
And I suppose every Fw 190F-8 was the same as the others? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Production of G-8 version continued from September 1943 to February 1944, when production of the Fw 190G-8 was abandoned in favor of modified F-8 series planes. This was connected with the tendency to simplify the production process.
Fw 190F-8/U1 - long range fighter-bomber (provided as replacement for the Fw 190G-8 withdrawn from production). The plane had underwing pylons installed from the Bf 110 V.Mitt-Schloss (Verkleidetes Messerschmitt Schloss) for mounting two 300 liter fuel tanks and additional fuel pumps inside the wings. Some planes had ETC 503 bomb racks in place of the pylons that gave the capability of carrying two additional 250 kg bombs (in this case the fuel tank was mounted under the fuselage) on ETC 501 racks. It was possible was to mount bombs on all points (2x250 kg and 1x500 kg), this reduced range but made the Fw 190A dangerous plane carrying 1000 kg of bombs.
I'm guessing this is the plane you saw?
Example of this practice(referring to airframe re-use) is seen in a Fw 190F-8/R-1 plane stored in the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) in Washington, USA. When, after storage in the Silver Hill facility, the process of restoration started, the old identification plate on the fuselage with serial number (Werk Nummer) W.Nr. 640069 was found. This is evidence that the airframe was taken from an A-7 plane. After rebuilding during the war, this particular plane was modified to Fw 190F-8 standard, got a new serial number (W.Nr. 931884) and was again sent to a service unit.

Yep 884 is the one I saw, in the Garber facility, along with Do 335, Ar 234, Me 410, Go 229, and many more. A great place for a Luftwaffe nut. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Considering the U1, it looks like the F-8/R1 would be the choice. Yank the cowl guns and outer guns from the A-8, install a blown hood, paint it up like 884, and give us the the standard F-8 loadouts plus the option of using the U1 stuff. And don't forget that the F-8 is the plane that was used for all the late-war anti-tank rocket goodies. You couldn't ask for more in a 190 Jabo.
The nice part about 884 is that all the research on the paint job was already done by the Smithsonian, there are a lot of pictures of it in print, and the aircraft is accessible to the public.
A good book on the topic is "Focke-Wulf Fw 190: Workhorse of the Luftwaffe" by Jay P. Spenser. This is a book from the Smithsonian which has a lot of info about the 190 in general, Schlacht units, and career and restoration of 884.

I do believe the G version had provisions for the @ 4000lb bomb, correct? On the center point?
- Jig (I'd just like a version minus the MG's)
-
A little off topic...
I would like to see the 2 x 3 bomb racks put on the P-38. A P-38 loaded down with 6 x 500 pounders would be very useful.
The P-38L was also able to carry 2 x 2000lb bombs or torpedoes and that would also be a very welcomed option.

Hey! where were you guys when I made the post on this board earlier? I asked the same thing, but only 1 reply (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) Anyways, I agree.. would like to see more A/G weapons for the A-5/A-8. Everytime I'm faced with a marauding tank near our field, I have to bring up a tank instead of a plane. I'd love to have some more rockets to throw at tanks like the allied planes do. Or cluster bombs to hit spawn points/resources/acks. Not asking for a separate aircraft, b/c it's not needed.. just extending the options for the ones we already have. I guess we'll have to wait till after 1.04 tho?

Germans sure need better tank buster, when those guns are silly against tanks like in real life, but allies has all the goodies and those super 20mm's that punches through panzer armour *somehow*, so, let germans have some response against allied super modelled stuff.
If HTC does not give germans any fairer ground attack stuffs, they could as well give us Fokker Dr.1, so that allied pilots would even more happier to get rid of their cash.
-
Yes please, put bombs and overs heavy stuff on german planes so those guys will experience the 1.3 rate of climb too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

250kg bombs on Fw190 kill tanks easily- I know! (killed twice in a row).
-
Hmmm... interesting that you mention Luftwaffe nuts, Funked. I heard somewhere that Goering had only one testicle. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I wonder if the other is stored at Garber...

Also,
Don't forget the F-8 also had more armor added (Which also adds weight). But I think the F-8 would be a great addition to the LW birds and give the LW squads an excellent JABO plane. And if HTC models the blown hood for it, they will be one step closer to a blown hood DORA (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) . Of course, I would settle for the DORA with the regular canopy...but until then, the F-8 gets my vote.

Yep, I'd like some more bombs to the LW planes.
