I've been flying this plane constantly and I have to say that I'm very pleased with the result. It's a sheer joy to fly, and has so much power you can actually do rolling scissors against flat scissoring aircraft. Zoom capacity is phenomenal just as I've heard from Russian sources, and the speed of this thing is scary. And all with that characteristic Yakovlev maneuverability to slide, slip or snap without mishap, which makes the close kill so much easier.

I've found the yak9u to be a ton of fun.
got to get in real close and for the yak9u this isn't a problem unless the target has a wingman.
then the yak9u can escape nicely (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Having flown only against it I can say it is interesting waiting for it to run out of e in rolling scissors..

Not far out of A16 I had a Yak get into a flat spin on me. No matter what I tried it would not come out of it. So I cheated a bit and threw the nose down using flaps. It worked, kinda; now I was in an inverted spin! I think I need to brush up on my spin recovery.....again. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
