I've been reading up on them a bit. Couple questions...
Are they worth it on the 109 series?
Is it possible/easier to fire them off when you're coming at a HO to the buffs?
In the 110, should you line up 1-1.5K off their six and fire them off?

try this sight I developed. It works for the 109's, 110, and 190's
(http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/Sights/EGS%20Mk1%20MOD4.bmp)
Approach from the high 6 o'clock position in a shallow dive. You want your airspeed to be slightly above 300mph IAS.
Hold the bar just above the center bomber, when the wingspan match's the bar fire the rockets. This should be just about the same time as when the range counter goes from 1.5k to 1.0k.
It tricky, but it does work, I've managed to kill all three bombers with just one shot. Managing the closure rate is the most important aspect.
Good luck,
Baumer
IMPORTANT NOTE: this works for the heavy bombers only, B-17, B-24, and Lancaster

I'll download that and try it tomorrow. Can I do some practice on the drones in offline?
-
You don't need a sight in the 110. Get level right behind the bomber formation, put the lead bomber in that little dip in the sight holder, and fire when the icon goes from 1.5 to 1.0. I always take the four rockets and fire two at a time. The red outline is the dip I'm talking about.

I used to have a few films but I guess they don't work because of the updated game. You cant use them on the drones because they are turning. You could ask one of those mission makers to make a simple mission with a few formations of bombers and you in a rocket carrying plane.

Either way seems to make sense...I'll try both and see :)

Good luck with the rockets Spikes. I've personally shot down a couple fighters with them from the 110G2. Of course i received "colorful" Pms as well. :lol

Geez, that's rough. Go to bed!

I will. Just a tip: Don't shoot LTARS with Wgrs, especially Rifle. :D :D

Does the bottom line work with shooting say P51 rockets/F8 rockets at auto acks?

Have a good one. <S>

I think its more fun to shoot down fighters with the F-8s PB1 rockets :D

Film of a Lanc kill with A2G rockets (from an angled shot too ;))

No. Frankly, trying to shoot down aircraft with air-to-ground rockets is like betting on the lottery for your income. I.e. stupid.
The WGr 21 rockets are canted upward, arc up and come back down (but the drop is much further than the up arc). You can even see the launch tubes are angled upwards. Further, while you only get 2 of them, the fixed range, fuse time, and predictable explosion points make it almost as good as 50/50 chances of scoring a disabling or killing shot on bombers.
Forget any delusions of using A2G rockets on planes, and forget using A2A against any fighters. They are meant for use against bombers for a reason. Bombers are LARGE targets and flying level in a straight line.
I've done the A2A bit before, got good enough to be pretty reliably accurate against bombers. Have a few films, have posted them and screenshots before (do a search, the threads may still be around). The problem recently is there are fewer bombers on when I'm able to fly.
