Title: 190-A5 vs B-17 First try

Gimp as some good filters it seems, but the Lense Flair is terrible, IMO. I'd stick to the cool filters and great screenies!

I don't know if you can manipulate the Lense flair Filter in gimp, but I've never seen an Octogon-shape camera flair before. So, I'd say it's the program, not you. I currently use photoshop, and the flairs look much different; I rarely use them anymore though.

As I said, I like the filters, and the quality pics most... Check Blades pictures out; I'm still trying to figure out how to make mine look at least semi-real.

Post by: weazely on April 14, 2009, 08:27:32 PM: The thing with GIMP is that you might have to go the extra mile to get an effect that in photoshop may only take you one step. The lens flare/glare effect in photoshop can be easily created in GIMP, you might have to do add a few extra layers and such.

Post by: Rattler on April 15, 2009, 03:15:26 PM: Thanks ummm....i messed with the contrast a bit then when i had it were i wanted it i used something called curve it like makes it the colors stick out i think gamma...i dont know.I used motion blur but i used it very little because it just looked sloppy with too much then saturated the color yellow....i think it made it stick out a bit more.

Post by: weazely on April 15, 2009, 04:06:17 PM: Changing the layers opacity.. if you make a new layer and make that layer a full red, then change that layers opacity it will give the image a red feeling with out it being over done.

I can figure out how to make the whole picture darker but everything else such as tools (blur, contort, etc) I can't get to. If i can figure that one out, i should be able to get it but its confusing program..help! :pray
