Title: Shades and CV control
Post by: Wolfala on April 13, 2009, 02:16:25 PM
I don't normally post about BS, but this was just beyond stupid. Today around 245 pm EST we had TG120 off P113 engaging the P113 CV at point blank range. The CV group had been decimated - no cruiser left, ALL guns on the CV destroyed - and we were in a tail chase finishing the job. Some sweetheart takes control of our CV, turns it 180* in the opposite direction, knowing full well what the intent of the CV being placed in that position was to begin with.

Seriously guys, if you got 2 accounts - who are you kidding? Its a game - play it fairly.

And how do you know the sweetheart wasn't just a sweetheart but a shade?

It's getting out of hand isn't it?

The other night, my CO popped in to find 4 CV's in a tight group way off in the upper corner of the map....next to a base.....where bombers were upping en masse.

Yeah buddy, good plan.  :aok

seeing the CV usage leads me to believe a lot of people are sitting in front of their computer wearing a football helmet or some other protective head gear.

It was a shade with a high enough rank to take command of the cv....

Seems like a lot of work for just a shade.

Actually, if you think about it, anyone can start up a new shade on a 2 weeker--come in with an initial score of 0 and take command of any cv they want.  Then, chuck the shade and start a new one the next weekend.  Not exactly rocket science.   :lol

In cases like these, it is best to ask SHawk or some of the higher ranking fellows very nicely to take control of the cvs and keep control until it is out of danger. Of course, this only really works with the rooks.

True enough. But for those of us who were there, it was twittle'd up enough to warrant this post.

Once came on and almost every bish cv was being controlled by some one with a rank of 0. All I did for about 2 hours was take one cv away from these guys after another. Like others have said, you have to have some one with any rank at all hold the cv.

Is this....

A. Less ghey than someone with a good rank switching sides to move a CV so a base can be taken.
B. More ghey than someone with a good rank switching sides to move a CV so a base can be taken.
C. 42
D. Equally ghey to someone with a good rank switching sides to move a CV so a base can be taken.

First off rank should start at some arbitrary number, like 10,000, not zero.

Anyone caught doing such games should be virtually tarred and feathered.
The problem is that doing so just leads to more of the same, and more shades.

Not much you can do about it really busted a NOE set of nit Lancs 5 sectors away from the nearest Knight base heading right to our CV that started turning very tight circles for about the previous 45 minutes.

This is the kind of thing that burnt me out on the "win the war" part of the game. I get alot less pissed off just flying alone and huntin' for bad guys. The score bois and shady twits can have all the bases and CVs on the map for all I care. I just play my own game and lets the dorks play theirs.  :salute

Wasn't even that. It was just a good ol' fashioned slug match between ships of the line.

Tonight a guy named bongboy got so upset that he repeatedly whined about not having any help defending a port. Meanwhile his team, Bishops, were badly outnumberd but had mounted a great defense at another base, A94. Bongboy actually got so upset, that he whined some more then said "That's it, I'm out of here." Maybe I'm a bad guy but this never fails to make me laugh. I'm glad I was filming, I'll have to watch it again.   What a tool.

I think you are talking about a92.  (maybe I'm the one who is wrong)I was there and had a blast falling to the water several times.  Was actually there for at least an hour.  Had CV right off base, and multiple enemy as well as friendlies.  I died ALOT, but racked up just about as many kills (only landed 2 though :lol)  Was a blast  :salute to all involved.

Actually, I was in that fight.

If "slug match" = your 20+ player horde v. me and two other guys, then I agree.

"Fun."

Respectfully, your operation DUMBO DROP of 150 troops by land spawning LVTs vs no GVs at 113, please.

Wolf... it was just last week that I busted a noob taking control of our cv and moving it away from the port it was defending. The con there then bailed when the move was discovered. Questioning the guy that moved the CV got no answer but he then defected immediately. Dead giveaway. Either way its easy to overcome by taking control of the fleet.

Must have missed that part.

I don't even know the command to drop troops.

So a guy with a rank of 0 who just created an account can steal a cv away from Shawk with a rank of 1?

Or is this just a misconception?
