Sticking with complete aircraft for now. Identifying aircraft from a close up of one of the rivets leaves me cold I'm afraid.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Its a project mistake. Look that windshield, almost vertical, it works as airbreak?

At first I thought it was a Budd RB-1 Conestoga, but it's not, then I remembered the wooden wonder Curtiss C-76 Caravan.

First flight 5 Jan, 1943
the nose opened to load/unload cargo
3,000lb or 21 troops cargo load
two 1,200 hp P&W R1830-92's
200 mph top speed

There were reports of it being used in a combat zone, but was likley not true.
