Title: WTF Vista?!?

So, backstory: I have one folder I store my funny pictures in. A seperate folder is synced to my i-Pod. Don't ask why. I'm weird like that. But every few weeks I move the stuff from the Funny folder, to the i-Pod folder. Copy, paste. And yet, each time I try, something is wrong. If I open the "Funny" folder, it says I have 720 items in the folder. I select all. It says I have selected 720 items. I click copy. I then click paste in the next folder, but only 686 items show up. If I right click the funny folder itself, copy, paste, the window that tells you as things move say 690 items are being moved. WTF is going on? Which number is right?!?

Check to see if any of the files are system folders... i.e. index files etc... it they are Vista will not move them...

I had the same problem when my wife wanted to transfer all the music she had to her external hard drive, after going through almost 4,000 songs I gave up on transferring everything.

Well WTF is this?!? My i-Pod now says 724 pictures in that file! None of the folders on the computer say more than 720!!! Jesus... this is just maddening.

Have you tried using the right-mouse button to drag the files to the I-pod folder? It allows you to use the copy method, therefore the files aren't just moved, they're copied.

What we have here is the combo of a super intrusive OS (Vista) and a super intrusive file manager (iTunes).

lol pwned by vista=/ it's okay i have vista 64 and i really really wish i could remove the OS, but no luck here yet

Lockheed Corporate is shoving Vista down our throats and NOBODY is friggin' happy about it here. Vista is even more paranoid than my "black helicopter" brother-in-law.
