You gotta spring for the coffee maker for the gevalia. Sounds like a waste but the coffee maker that brews it from that company makes it better than most as well.

Pretty much all our coffee out here is Kona (For obvious reasons...) so out of curiosity, what's the difference?

then fill it with Lavazza or better. I like sainsburys range; ethiopian, sumatran, nicaraguan, java. the madagascan one is really good, quite chocolaty. yum.

Gevalia is a swedish brand... thus not such a big hit in Finland ;)
We appreciate the taste of our own blends more.

Kopi Luwak Coffee

Comes from the south bound end of a north bound Luwak civit.

They eat the cherries, bean and all. While the bean is in the little guy's stomach, it undergoes chemical treatments and fermentations. The bean finishes its journey through the digestive system, and exits. The still-intact beans are collected from the forest floor, and are cleaned, then roasted and ground just like any other coffee.

They say it has a flavor like no other coffee------- um, ok, no thank you, Maxwell House anyone?   :aok

You are joking, right?
 :D

It's that wickedly awesome soil that you guys have out there.

Most "Kona" coffee is not 100% Kona.  It is usually a blend.

You gotta spring for the coffee maker for the gevalia. Sounds like a waste but the coffee maker that brews it from that company makes it better than most as well.

I hate to admit this, but the best coffee is made in a French press.

I have one of these at home;

I wouldn't trade it for the world, it will make even iced coffee. We have a lot of different kinds of coffee but my favorite is probably the Kona blend by Timothy's.

We had one at an Italian restaurant  (actually more like an upscale pizzaria) that we had for the employees to use.  Either it was badly in need of a cleaning, or repair.  It never seemed to work correctly and usually wound up tasting like yesterday's coffee.  I'll have to try it again.

You need to run white vinegar through it about 3-4 times a year if you have hard water.

There is an ice company (which makes award winning beer too) not real far from me that charges $0.25 for a gallon of water from their spigot. I bring the office size 5 gallon jugs and quality water for my coffee for about 2 weeks.

thats the only problem with caffettiera - they are a right pain to keep clean   oh and most of them are made from aluminium, which is not good, invest in stainless steel :aok

When I went to Moscow last year I arrived at 5.30am after flying through the night in an upright seat I could not sleep in.  At the hotel (right next to Red Square) they has a coffee machine in the front lobby for guests.  I noticed that the guy who picked me up had helped himself to one and I asked him if he could do one for me...the machine looked very old and complicated.  Anyway...he hands me a cup that is about 1/4 full of this dark almost syrup-like elxiure, with a wonderful natural *foam* on top.

Best coffee I have ever had.

I am bugging the guy who was there to bring me some of it when he comes here on a visit this summer.  I don't know the brand, he told me but Russian ain't my strong suit and I don't remember it.

My wife loves Jamacian Blue Mountain...It's very good, but expensive.

We got some Barbados & St Lucia coffee on vacation and that's good stuff too.

We use a French Press from time to time & Von is right--it makes a difference.

I like New Orleans coffee & chickory--but my people are from the south and it is an aquired taste.

We don't have to worry about water here.  Hot Springs water is most all fed from pure underground springs.  There are 2 HUGE bottled water companies here that pull it direct from the springs system.  Spring water?  We have it on tap  :aok

I tried it for giggles before.  Tasted like ....

Props to them for an interesting marketing plan though.
