Title: a couple miscs
Post by: Mar on April 16, 2009, 04:19:33 PM
Not truely important, but it would be convenient to have a shortcut key to open the E6B on the clipboard for when you are engaged or just too lazy to reach for the mouse. I think this was asked for once before but I'm not sure.

The second wish I have is have an option to disable bullet hole graphics on your plane. For some reason they actualy reflect in the cockpit glass when looking towards the sky and can get very distracting. It might just be my card, but I would still like this option to keep my paint job clean at least.

Thoughts?

Would like a E6B shortcut.  Never had a problem with bullet holes, though.

I think this is a video driver issue.  I've recently had this start happening to me as well as my clipboard expanding by itself only when I have an enemy aircraft engaged.

The damage on the right wing will mirror in the left upper canopy.

Have you changed any video parameters lately?

E6-B?
Dot command would be nice but as it is, if you open it once and don't un-E6-B then all it takes to open it again is hit esc or whatever button you have assigned for that function.

It's almost a shortcut.

Bullet hole reflections have haunted me since I first started and I don't have the money for a new card. Besides that, I would still like to keep it clean for things such as Training Arena practice where I'm always being shot full of holes regardless if I want to be or not.

you might be able to change the driver to clear that bullet hole problem up.

Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

And it hasn't been that long.

OUCH !!

It is definitely a graphics card problem for the bullet holes. You should be happy that card even plays the game! Sorry to say there isn't much you can do with that one.  :(

You're telling me...

Enough about my unfixable problem, what about the wishes?

Your onboard graphics is most likely the culprit.

Like the E6b Idea and would like to add to that with the programming of turning on and off of the tracers.

A KB shortcut for the E6B is an excellent idea.

It's probably the habit of many if not most of us to bring the clipboard up when we take off on a new sortie, and bring up the E6B, and then close the clipboard again.  I have a switch on my CH throttle that I use to open the clipboard, so I can then see the E6B without taking my hands off my controls, but it would be very nice not to have to do that manually each time I take off, and then have to do it again if I look at info like .score, the war status, etc.

+1 on the E6B command.  I'd very much like to be able to program a "open E6B" command to one of my HOTAS controls.

Tracers is a "load out" option.  If you're asking to turn on and off tracers in the middle of a sortie, that shouldn't happen.

Customizable everything, tracers, stick settings, etc., for each plane and vehicle would be nice also but more than likely un-doable.

Let's imagine a huge, bloated program, that takes a week to download, with all the options to save us a keystroke or a few seconds from what is possible to do already but we wish we didn't have to be bothered with because "it takes aaall that 'extra' effort".

nope not saying that, just wish i could hit a key before upping to switch the tracers on or off depending on if I'm in a plane or GV

It takes 3(?) mouse strokes now.  And you always forget to do it when you wanted to/

I agree it's a PITA the way it is now but it is doable.

What you should really want is the ability to save tracer options per plane like head positions and what not.

Or maybe not.

Either way, it's just one of those things you need to "remember" to do when you want to do it, then remember to undo what you just did afterwards.

Or you could have them off for Mode 1, and on for mode 2 or something like in that neighborhood would do me.
