There are good reasons why eg. spits are fragile, ponies dont have 6 hizookas, 190s dont turn like zeros. most of the aircraft are extremely optimised designs, any amateur tinkering would almost guarantee an unflyable monster.

The only thing that i would find interesting is a P38J/L with two tempest engines.

It lets you make custome vehicels, planes, boats, cars, lighter than air ships, subs, the sky is the limit. Heck they even have jet engines and grenade launchers that you can equip your custom plane with.
