Title: new sound card need some help

all i installed a new sound card. i went cheap 19.99 diamond 5to1 had a onboard ac97 whatchamaacallit.
everything words fine except 1 wierd issue.whwn i push the t button to talk,the engine sound overcomes my right headphone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone ever had this issue very wierd.....

did you turn off the onboard in the bios?

also right click the volume control (down by the clock on the desktop) and click adjust audio properties, then click the "Voice" tab, then the "volume" button under the Voice playback section. Make sure the line in or mic (which ever you are using for the mic input) box is checked to mute the mic.

If its not on your desktop (not everyones is) Look in the control panel "sounds and Audio devices"

i have done everything here except the bios deal.How do i get to this partA?

most common is F2 or buttons when you turn the computer on
