In 30 years I've never used a better product

My parents have scrubbed their two tier deck with a commercial floor scrubber and a hose. They use CFW every two years. The deck is 21 years old and still looks new.

I've used CWF as well. Its a pretty good product as well.
Superdeck Around here until pretty recently was hard to find. and I've only used it a few times in the last few years.
But every single time I have. I've been nothing short of impressed. Leaves a beautiful even finish and applying it is a snap.
Lately because of the mandatory reformulation to meet VOC compliance all my old standby's have fallen far short of expectations. Both in quality of the finished product, and ease of application.
As I'm telling my customers. One good thing about NJ is we have some of the toughest V.O.C. compliance laws in the nation.
The bad thing about NJ is..We have some of the toughest V.O.C. compliance laws in the nation. And alot of the paint and most notably the staining products are suffering because of it.
I've had to completely swear off of any of Ben Moores oil based stains because its become just too much of a pain to apply. And the finished product doesnt meet my standards. So I've gone from being (grudgingly) willing to comply with a customers specific product request(I've never been uber impressed with Benjamin Moores stains to begin with) to outright refusing to use that product.
But Superdeck is the best I've ever used. And I've used most of them. Heh, I remember when Olympic was considered a top of the line stain. Now most contractors I know including myself think of it as garbage.
CWF isnt bad but you have to really make sure its stirred up well and that you keep stirring it every once in a while. If you dont. You may find one end of your deck to be a different color then the other end. And you really have to make sure you dont get any puddling. especially on pressure treated decks
While this is true with all stains. Its not as true with superdeck. Its actually stayed mixed. And puddling was minimal at worst.
And application is near foolproof.
A house I did a couple of years ago using Moores stain I couldnt prevent lap marks no matter what I did. including literally walking the entire length of the boards. The can recommends a second coat only after 24 hours. I found that to make the home presentable I had to put a second coat on right away. Waiting till the next day only got me more lap marks.
With Superdeck I wasnt able to get lap marks even by trying. No matter what I've done to put it through its paces. I've only ended up with a fantastic finish.
I cant say that about any other product I've used

I will never use Olympic again. Been using Sherman Williams Cuprinol with pretty good luck but not thrilled with it. I will for sure look in to this product.

What is your thought on SIKKENS?
My dads a fan, i use it on ourt haouse and the house's we sell............ Applications is easy........... durability/longevity......?
Ive used all the siding and deck stains ...... few different versions over the years..... all i know is it rates well on comsumers report and people actually call us specificlly be cause we are a distributor.

I have been using that product for over 10 years. Many of the redwood decks I have built over the years are treated with what my clients like to call <Super Duck> Super Deck. It is sold at J&W Redwood around here in South So Cal. at least that's where I get it. I have applied it just about every way... brush, roller, paint sprayer, rags and the best way imho a regular pump up bug sprayer. Depending on the weather it will go about 2-3 years before re-coat.
Great product,

Any preference on a composite deck cleaner? Or does it really matter?

Found the price on my own $25.00. I am going to buy some superdeck today. That how much I trust the wisdom of my fellow AHers

I've only used Sikkens a couple of times. And that was their gel stain on some doors which I didnt particularly care for. And that was some years ago.
Truth of the matter is I just dont see it around here much.
So its hard for me to give an honest opinion of it.

Great product,
How does this product hold up to pool chemicals? Since all the companies have had to reformulate to met VOC compliances a couple of years ago.
Im having a hard time around here finding a product that will stand up to the pool chemicals.
Course I realise that the product that I buy here in NJ may not be the same formulation as the product of the same brand I buy in other states.

Im only just starting jobs with to see composite decks here over the last year or so. And havent had any jobs which have called for just the deck specifically to be washed. But I'll usually include it when I powerwash the rest of the house provided its not loaded up with stuff.
My experience thus far has been whatever I've used to wash the rest of the house with has worked just fine.

I worked at Sherwin Williams during highschool, and thru college. CWF is a wonderful product, but from dealing with all the contracors the general concensus was that Ducks was the only way to go. Personally ive only used CWF and it went on easy, and looked beautiful.

I have used their Cetol product on the exterior teak of my boat, best stuff I have found to date.
