Is there any secret to making this render nicely for a ~5min film with sparse audio, and keep it around 5-10mb?

thats quite a challenge as far as my skills go.  5 minutes of good quality visuals and mediocre sound takes at least 40mb for me. I'm not very good at it though. I'm using sony vegas.
